There has been a debate about whether they can send you to jail if you don't buy. If the IRS can levy a fine and then come after you if you refuse to pay the fine, then it seems like they can end up putting you in jail if you don't buy health insurance.

Personally I have health insurance at work, but if this all comes to a head I am tempted to drop it just to force the IRS to try to squeeze blood out of this turnip.

I know, cutting off my nose to spite my face and all that. Probably would not do so, but I would seek to prevent the fact that I have insurance from being reported to the government since it is none of their business.

Seems like I have heard of an old curse that goes something like "May you live in interesting times."

Maybe we can start like an office pool taking bets on whether this representative or that senator will not be reelected next November.
