Perhaps this is just a bit of personal bias. I understand that Michal Jackson was a major celebrity, and that because of his history of "questionable" conduct, his death is big news. BUT, I truly believe that what is going on in Iran right now dwarfs that news in importance, and the fact that the media, including Fox is ignoring Iran for Jackson is a major gaffe. Somebody really needs to get their priorities in order.

No matter how many country thugs with guns he has, no matter how many tanks, no matter how many bullets, it just means an increased number of bomber sorties. We can deal with Kimmie anytime we want without an American soldier ever having to get his boots dirty. What we need to do is in some way remind him, and for that matter, remind the world of this fact. And I won't even mention what ONE SSBN could do to him, and Iran, and China. AT THE SAME TIME. The world has forgotten our power. They and our leaders do so at our peril, because one day even the annointed obama may be pushed to the point where he HAS to use that power, and the longer he waits, the worse it will be for everyone. He'll be forced to do with nukes what could have been done five years earlier with one sniper.

Here's my problem here. We have sent the missile defense platform to sea, and I am confident of it's capabilities. I'm sure in a real emergency, they won't just shoot once, but will salvo enough interceptors from the platform and from the cruisers to ensure a successful intercept. Unless..... the officer in charge is on the phone waiting to get authorization from obama, while obama wrings his hands and worries about whether he should be responsible for an "escalation of hostilities," while the incoming missile passes beyond the interceptor's capability to hit.

Because a well regulated Militia is necessary for the security of a free state, the people must have ready access to arms and be proficient in their use. Seems pretty straightforward to me. I'm sorry if you don't get it, or if you choose to twist it around to say something else, but that's what it says. And a militia is defined as an organized and armed group of citizens, not soldiers.

You are right, and Beck is as well. There are a lot of people who think that they should grab their guns and get all their buddies and lay siege to Washington right now!!! And if their buddies get cold feet, well... they'll just turn their house into a fortress and make threats until the BATF does come and kick down his door, at which point there is a brief firefight, maybe a hostage situation, and another example of a right wing gun nut gone mad for the media to put on exhibit for their next push for gun registration. Beck is very right in that WE DON"T NEED THAT. However, tactically, if you wait until they are kicking down your door for the final solution, well, then it's far too late. I like Beck, I like Rush, I like nearly all the conservative talkers and bloggers, even though I do disagree with them on many points. But none of them would ever, REALLY, consider or advocate actual civil war. They are different kinds of creatures. This is a good thing. A very good thing, because the game is still in their field right now. People like beck are our first and greatest hope of seeing our way through this to a real victory, and of keeping our country. Because if they fail, and it does come to violence, and all of the terrible things that come with it, then in a lot of ways we have already lost because win or lose, our country will never be the same again. But armed resistance must always stay on the table as an option. Because that is what the second amendment is, a last resort against tyranny when all other measures have failed. All other measures have not failed yet.

He may or may not technically be a muslim (no I will not capitalize that), but in his actions and words it is very clear that he is completely enamored with islamic (won't capitalize that either) culture, and views Western culture with barely hidden contempt. Because of this I think he is going to be far more accommodating and deferential to them than any American leader has ever been. And they are going to take full advantage of it to further their interests over ours at every opportunity.

No they should not. It's not the government's money, it's theirs. While they WERE working they paid taxes, now they're just getting some of it back. And for many of them, if it weren't for the government's incompetent meddling in the economy, they wouldn't be out of work in the first place.

I empathize with you my friend. My income is roughly the same as yours. I don't own my own home, I own virtually nothing of value, and all my utility bills are paid barely the day before they get cut off. Most of the time. I make payments on one car, used, and one credit card. Since April 15, my bank account has been running around 200.00 overdrawn that I can't catch up on. That was initiated when I had to pay my state taxes. Now fuel is on it's way back up, and I look to see $4.00-$5.00 a gallon again by the end of summer. And Obama is bragging about how Cap and Trade is going to double or triple the price of everything. I do everything right, I pay my taxes, I pay my bills, my wife and I both work full time. We do not in any definition of the word live an extravagant lifestyle. I don't know how much longer we're going to hold out, and I know that if the current trend continues, we're done for. Can you say HELL TO THE CHIEF!!!!!! boys and girls?
