out-of-contract iPhones - here it is. Cue thousands of letters to Tim Cook? Doubt that will yield the desired results.
Cue class action lawsuit against AT&T and Apple for anti-competitive business practice? - you'll get your results. The second Apple realizes that by not forcing AT&T's hand in the matter, they stand to lose money and have a potential PR disaster on their hands - they will act swiftly, and AT&T will start unlocking devices that have met their contractual obligation. And if that doesn't happen, the courts will make it happen either way.

Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 and 0.9.9b5 keep crashing on my macbook 3.1 running Lion 10.7.2.
It crashes right as its about to launch, and the error report has this to say:
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000000
Thread 0 crashed with X86 Thread State (32-bit):
eax: 0x00000000 ebx: 0x000abbbb ecx: 0x00000000 edx: 0x003b5aa8

cr2: 0x00000000
Logical CPU: 1
List of things done in attempt to resolve issue:
Checked RAM - found no issues
Repaired permissions - problem remains
Cleared all caches on mac: problem remains.
Other Redsn0w versions seem to work fine, as does Pwnagetool.
What gives? I am completely helpless here, and would appreciate any and all help
Thanks.

I have a Macbook Pro running OSX Lion, and EVEY single version of Redsn0w you can
mention crashes on startup. I never had this problem until yesterday, and I've tried everything
I could think of to fix the problem - to no avail. I click on Redsn0w to start it, and it crashes.
"Redsn0w quit unexpectedly" and gives me options "show details, ok, reopen".
Show details - might as well be written in Japanese
Ok - Not OK
Reopen - ReCrash
Im at my wits end here...
Would appreciate any and all help.
Thanks

The one quote I will forever carry with me by Jobs: "I just wanted to leave a dent in the world".
Look at this as an inspiration for generations to come, how this man who was a college drop out
didn't succumb to anything in his life that stood in his way, and re-defined an era, computing, technology, and us - forever. We are all forever changed, and a living part of his legacy. My 1 year old goddaughter was playing with my iPhone today, and the fact that she was able to slide to unlock - brought a tear to my eye, but a big ol' grin to my face, and I thought: "I know you'd be smiling at this too Steve, if you can see it from wherever you are. This is your legacy in its most glorious." May he rest in the peace he so rightfully deserves.

I've shed more than my fair share today. Steve, you never knew me - but I mourn
your loss as if you were family. One of the greatest innovators and creative minds of the 20th and 21st centuries. You will be sorely missed. My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences go out to your family at this time of grief. You are with the Angels now. May you impress, inspire and delight them as you have us.
Rest in Peace, good sir.
