As a past pupil of Holy Faith Convent, Couva. I am truly grateful that I had the opportunity to attend such a fine institution. The reunion was a tremendous success and I pray that the school will continue to produce strong, well rounded, independent young women who make positive contributions nationally, regionally and internationally.

This is truly a sad day in our country when a Minister of Government delivers a statement loaded with statistics that serves nothing more than to continue the fan the flames of racism in this country. I find it difficult to understand what he hoped to accomplish. Was it an attempt to try to explain the racial profiling that has been an accusation during the entire SOE?
Why haven't the so called big fish been held? Why are the foot soldiers on the run whilst the generals are free? Why is money laundering under the guise of big business being undetected in the SOE? This government espoused principles of unity but have turned out to be the greatest agents of discord and polarization that this nation has ever seen.

I cannot understand why public servants were fed a constant diet of chants of resistance and unity for the common good. At the end of the day 5% was accepted. Pure pappyshow! 5% cannot help in the grocery or help with rent and gas. Guess Watson needs to return to Primary school days and the law of percentages be reminded that 5% in these times was an insult when it was first offered and remains an insult today to public servants.

The honourable minister needs to have more consultation on this issue. This dictatorial top down approach is not the best solution to improving the educational system. This approach leads to discord. On one hand he advocates the holistic development of the child stating that there is too much focus on the SEA subjects and further to that is adamant about including religious education.
Then in the same week states that extra curricular activities should not occur during school time. These are conflicting views, diametrically opposed to each other. We need to develop the entire child period if we are to have a society of well rounded, functional adults.

Why was my comment yesterday removed after being up for over 18 hours? Why is it taking over two hours for my last comment to be approved? What am I saying that is so wrong or right that I have to be approved now?
