Conservatives are not shooting themselves in the foot, they're shooting themselves in the head! Rick Santorum has zero chance of beating Obama; he's actually a dream come true for Obama. His executive experience is limited to helping his children run a lemonade stand.

Actually you make an excellent point. The far right wingers are EXACTLY like the far left wing...blinded by ideology, narrow minded, unable to accept that they are wrong about anything, willing to push their agenda on everyone else in the country, and they have a false sense of utopia that will magically occur IF people are willing to adopt their ideology. That is why democrats are getting such a stronghold...on social issues they are the champions of personal freedom.

Morality cannot be legislated. Right wingers don't make much of a case for conservatism...people will continue to run from it if they constantly see the major hypocrisy of clowns like Newt Gingrich who claims to champion conservative ideas but then calls himself a progressive conservative, promotes big government ideas like the federal healthcare mandate, and calls the Constitution obsolete. The new crop of conservative young politicians do offer hope.

How dare those members of Congress to be disrespectful of him this week. Forget about reading AG e-mails and letters...he's far too busy trying to get those Taliban prisoners he represented at one time out of Gitmo.

When is someone going to ask the MSM why they didn't ask Obama a few questions before they rushed him into office. Romney is in for he-l from the media. All the major media outlets have employees on the boards of Soros-connected media fairness and other nonprofits. No conflict of interest there...

As an FYI, some of Romney's agenda items are interesting...like a balance sheet for the government.

Some of his Agenda for a Free and Strong America
1. Promote small business and entrepreneurship through lower taxes
2. Stop the trillion dollar deficits and spend only what we have.
3. Publish an annual balance sheet for the country
5. Reduce and simplify taxes
6. Adopt a strong dollar strategy including spending restraint and entitlement sustainability
7. Reform entitlements
8. Adopt an annual budget for entitlements
9. Reform tort liability
10.Stop any new government growing stimulus programs

This is only 10 of 64. At least he has a solid plan. The book is "No Apology - Believe in America."

I am an adunct instructor in business and technology at a community college and I am also amazed at how students game the system. I had students who were on free financial aid (not loans) because they are disadvantaged, and many of them would never come to class....make an F...repeat the process. We were told not to give them F's instead of W's if they didn't come to class because it would endanger their financial aid. I had students that had taken the same class 3 times...I had them on the fourth. It is a way to make a living for them for a few years. They never really wanted an education...they just wanted the freebees. I hold the college responsible...they got more funding from the state for higher headcounts, so they went along with the theory that these students were serious. It certainly wasn't that way when I went to college on a grant years ago.

I resent too that you don't have any health insurance! If there was not so much fraud, waste, and abuse in the government--and people only took assistance when they needed it temporarily--there would be enough to provide reasonable healthcare insurance to those who don't have it available through an employer. I saw an article today that there is $1T dollars missing from Social Security that can't be accounted for. It isn't unusual for the Dept of Education to have $6 to $8B a year that they can't account for. Health and Human Services is probably a higher amount. There is no accountability in these government agencies.

I sincerely hope that things improve for you. I know some parts of the country are worse than others. If we can get a change in the White House, the outlook might improve.
