Genderless Marriage? We're not asking the Court to force couples to have their genders extracted. Trust me, if my same-sex partner was genderless, I never would have married him.
ps. Are there two sticks somewhere in the Constitution that I don't know about? Hidden in one of the amendments, or perhaps stuck in a crease?

Maggie and Brian and the rest of NOM are knowingly hurting children. They are knowingly hurting children. They have no moral qualm hurting the children of LGBT couples in order hurt their parents. They believe that this is war, and war always has casualties. In this case, the casualties are children. NOM is in no way pro family. They are demonstrably anti children. And they have no problem with this. It sickens me.
I just saw the video. Wow. Jane Lynch did a great job at capturing the petulance and intensity of Maggie Gallagher. If I could, I'd give a Tony award to each and every actor on stage, and when I am finally crowned Emperor of the Universe ( which is taking forever, by the way) that will be one of my first decrees. Bravo!
I think you're right about NOMbies being able to get enough signatures to get a referendum on the ballot, but I'm confident their victory will end there. Washingtonians have been exposed to four years of Prop 8 media. There's also a public record of the lies and deceit of NOMBies in the court documents now. And for all intents and purposes, council for BLAG in Golinsky ( Conor Dugan) admitted to the judge at trial that gay marriages do not harm straight marriages. - a key fixture in every NOM ad. Washingtonians will benefit from this huge body of evidence. That's the problem with NOM's "win at any cost" strategy involving lies and deceit - it catches up with you over time. A lot of Californians were fooled in 2008. I don't think as many will be fooled this time.
NOW would probably want the fronts, too., but who wouldn't, really? Anyway, I share your hope, and want to see NOM go down in flames, and hard. I think Washingtonians are going to see through their lies and deceit pretty easily, having been exposed to four years of Prop 8 coverage.
I find it interesting that BLAGs position seems to be "We are not trying to deny gay people the right to marry one another. We only want to deny them every single federal right that comes with being married" It's almost like saying "We are not trying to deny women the right to get a drivers license. We only want to deny them the right to ever operate a motor vehicle"
Does any one know when we might get transcripts? I'm very curious how BLAG responded to those pointed questions.
Those two anonymous donors are forming a new group: "Cowards for Christ". Sniveling in the darkness, they seek to destroy the lives of impartial judges and same-sex couples alike, without the fear that others will find out their secret identities and then say mean things that might hurt their feelings. Their mantra? "Jesus told us to hide!"
