Hey this is off topic, but I wasn't sure where to ask this:
Does Talon or anyone else know the name of the font used for the Impact Wrestling logo? Possibly where I could download it from too. Thanks, and again...wasn't sure where to ask this, hope this is ok.
Garrett, I'm thinking that with your apparent disdain towards everything TNA does, you should maybe do yourself a favor and not watch it any more. I know...that means you would have to find something else to bitch about, but give it time...I'm sure you'll find something.
You may be the only online reviewer is didn't really enjoy this episode or the awesome opening segment.
I think the biggest "anchor" holding TNA back are "fans" like you. Stop couch booking, sit back and enjoy the damn product. You'll likely gain more enjoyment out of it when you don't make it a point to second guess EVERYTHING.
but that would be a reasonable thing to do? Allowing something to play out before judging it...reasonable, we can't have reasonable in the IWC. Sorry, try again.
Could be. Wouldn't mind that. Good character, not bad in the ring.
He means being the SINGLE most important and influential wrestler in the history of the business. Look, I'm like alot of the IWC and would very much so like to see Hulk go away now, but don't fool yourself. Wrestling is what it is, and became what it was, because of Hulk Hogan. Seeing him life is unreal...the man has such a unique charisma to him that words can't even describe it. Hogan is a once in a lifetime case, the perfect man given the perfect gimmick at the perfect time. Without Hogan....Wrestlemania doesn't became the mainstream spectacle it has been for decades, WCW doesn't come from behind and start the Boom period of wrestling with the Monday Night Wars.
You may dislike Hogan, and that's fine. But the man IS wrestling.
Everything wrestlingsbest wrote above gets my approval. :)
I agree there are similarities, no doubt. But every angle has similarities to other angles that came before. Hell, he mentioned the current Bryan angle, which is just a retelling of the Corporation angle WWE did like a decade ago. Just exchange Vince for HHH, Rock for Orton and Foley for Bryan. But WWE has managed to change just enough for it not to be a carbon copy, for it to be familiar, yet somewhat fresh. People also seem to forget that that CM Punk promo, if you take out the "leaving the company" part, it was rather similar to a promo Bobby Roode cut not to long before that, including the mentioning of guys no longer in the company.
But yes, we'll have to wait and see. :)
I hate to break it to you Garrett, but CM Punk & Daniel Bryan aren't the first Worked-Shoot storylines of their kind, TNA has done them before, ROH has done them ECW did them, WCW did them too. Saying it's copying WWE's last two storylines of a worked shoot nature makes you seem rather ignorant about the wrestling business as a whole. They weren't the first, AJ won't be the last. That's what wrestling is, everything has been done before so you try and put a unique spin on a familiar story. It's FAR too soon to know how this will play out. Will this just be a storyline with no other impact? Will it lead to the return of some of those guys mentioned? Will it be AJ's swan song in TNA? The future will tell, but saying a story that JUST started is copying other stories that merely added a few twists on OTHER stories that came before the previously mentioned stories is...well, premature at the very least.
Come on TNA! How much money are Hogan and Sting making!? You don't need them both, get rid of one of them and use that money to pay the ACTUAL Talent!
I could see her working the "reluctant heel" direction. Not wanting to turn on the fans or do things Sabin wants her to do, but also wanting to keep Sabin happy and not mess up the relationship. A love vs honor storyline.
