Steven Seagal: "So...you punks think it's funny, telling me that everyone's dressing in black for the department photo. I don't need this shit. This is just a temp job. When you assholes are stocking copies of "Above The Law III: Even More Above The Law" in the Direct-To-DVD aisle you'll see my face staring back at you. I'M STEVEN FRIGGING SEAGAL. I'm a big star and...sorry, yes, ma'am, I can tell you about this washer/dryer combo. It's a GE. Very reliable. I have one myself. And you can save 10% if you apply for a Best Buyer Club Card with us today."

Karen - I agree; the fact that the importance of having a towel was not mentioned once = MOVIE FAIL.

BaltimoreGal - the part of Rosebud will be played by Keanu Reeves. He has the wooden thing down.

Also, today CNN.com has an article about the upcoming film version of...wait for it....wait for it..."On The Road". Who should play Sal Paradise and Dean Moriarty? NO ONE.

Gray Matter - shhh, they'll hear you? Do YOU want to see Brett Ratner's version of "The Love Boat".

Robyn - I agree - An "Ant-Man" movie? Is that really necessary? - but I'm excited for "Watchmen", and have high hopes for Matthew Vaughn's version of a pretty good and very subversive comic that most people have never heard of called "Kick-Ass". And I'm OK with your reimagining, as long as Daniel Craig plays me. (Oh! Fun Comment Game! Who will play each member of Team MamaPop in the eventual MamaPop: The Movie?!)

I predict a strong Q1 2009 rebound, thanks to increased performance of low-yield bonds and a surge in capital to mid- to high-end performers in the developing technology subsectors (fabless semiconductor R&D notwithstanding). The Keynsians will certainly point to Federal intervention as being crucial to any recovery, while proponents of Friedman will argue that implicit separation of nominal from real magnitudes is neither possible nor desirable. But regardless, both sides agree that Led Zeppelin's use of the Hindenburg disaster for their first album cover was wicked awesome.

Seems I forgot about Donnie's, ah, "performance" in the movie "Dreamcatcher". There isn't a word in the English language that can adequately describe how bad he is. I shall have to invent one. Let's see...hmmm....horrifucktaculous.

Alex - I once went to a Garth Brooks concert. Willingly. I feel a certain kinship with you.

DavidS - I'm betting that Donnie has mixed feelings about his "Entourage" alter-ego, Johnny Drama. On the one hand, Drama reminds the world that Donnie actually exists. On the other: "Viking Quest" = "Boomtown".

DianaCLT - "Lastly...I, personally, would be embarrassed to be at/around 40, still dressing like my buddies and dancing in unison." That was something my buddies and I had to get over when we formed our 98 Degrees Tribute Band. It was weird at first, but now I find it strangely liberating. (BTW, we're called Sheyds Of Lachey - "Sheyds" rhymes with "shades", get it? - and we will be appearing at the grand opening of the new Ralph's in Yuma, AZ on October 5th.)

SnarkyAmber - I agree. They should've hired Roger Dean to take the the cover in a Yes/Emerson, Lake & Palmer/Asia direction, with the New Kids riding on dragons through purple skies above a landscape dense with giant multi-colored mushrooms. That would have been awesome.

DeviousMuse - I'll admit to being concerned over making a fart joke. I feel much better now. As Dennis Miller once said, "kids think farts are funny BECAUSE THEY ARE."

"See, but that's the thing: sometimes we're not."

YOU'RE not, Jim. Please don't presume to speak for the rest us, the vast majority of men who didn't learn about sex by watching comic book movies.
