My TV is becoming smaller by the day, and it's not even 1080p.
Some great options/prices out there right now for 46" LED 1080p displays, and they're stunning. With an appletv3, I don't need anything else.
1. FaceTime on the tv? Nope, no need. I have enough devices that can do this.
2. Siri control over the tv? Nope, too slow, and I don't always feel like talking when relaxing on the couch.
3. Genius content delivery? Nope, I know what I like, and what I want to see.
4. Live TV ala carte? Interesting, but I don't watch live tv other than MLB, which I already get through ATV3.
I'm toying with the notion right now of canceling my FIOS tv service, saving about $50 off that plan, and reallocating those funds into an iTunes gift card purchase each month, which my wife or I can use to freely select content from iTunes. I would get more for my money, and stop paying for what I don't watch.

Not saying I agree with that, but that is 100% reality.

If I buy an iPhone, with a 2 year from AT&T, why the hell does it need to be LOCKED to their network? No matter what I do with my phone, I still have 2 years worth of service to pay for, even if I decided to get a plan with another carrier in the meantime. AT&T does not lose, only I do, out of poor decision making.
AT&T only insists on locking to play the numbers game: they rather lock all, and only unlock the small % who complain...invariably, there will be a majority who don't complain, and thus remain locked, and renew after 2 years.

Get two SATA II SSDs, put them in eSata enclosures, connect to LaCie hub, connect to Thunderbolt port. That gets me to two SSDs running around 250 MBps. Not bad.

Combine that with the several defects that many iPads are seeing (including mine) and this has been probably the lamest launch ever. Granted, I'll get my iPad replaced by Apple when I find the time to waste traveling to the store, and eventually more apps will be updated, and eventually some websites might update their artwork to look nice on this display, and eventually there will be more 1080p video content available....
But none of that has anything to do with NOW, and right now, the new iPad launch has been really disappointing....something I never thought I would say, having purchased both previous iPads on launch.

There are better drawing apps, and better painting apps.
