Yeah, that's a bit of a plot hole. Taking into account, though, that when given the chance to fly around the world at the end of the episode, she did stay there with him, and even put up with Peridot to stay (kinda). That sort of redeems her a bit in my book. And I don't think she tried to murder Steven or, for that matter, anyone else. She was just trying to keep them away, even if she was a bit violent in doing so. If she wanted to, she could've drowned Steven or hurt him while he was in the water tower and/or the bubble at the top of the water tower.

Also taking into account is that almost without pause, Lapis was freed from 5000 years of imprisonment, captured on Homeworld, interrogated on the ship, pushed around by Jasper and forced to watch Steven attacked on the beach, imprisoned on the ship AGAIN, crushed by the same ship's wreckage, forced herself into a fusion with one of her least favourite people, trapped herself at the bottom of the ocean for what we can believe to be a few months, and brutally battered around as Malachite. I think I can give her some slack after that.

I'll go Same Old World as my favourite here. Steven and Lapis finally get some chill time together, which is great as they're two of my four favourite characters in the series, and it had wonderful imagery and storytelling. Runner up is SWI/GD, because Peridot is adorable and Alexandrite is badass, and Malachite is just fantastic. It also has one of my favourite three-second-long scenes ever, which seems like a small thing but I really loved the moment when Jasper and Lapis are falling from the sky.
