Now for the Top Ten Worst Episodes of Season 5 for all the pessimists out there!
I agree, but at least this time she was powerless and she could not stop Starlight herself and was fortunate enough to convince her to stop on her own.
I agree. I felt that her back story was adequate, but poorly executed and vastly underdeveloped. If they had spent more time showing how significant the friendship was maybe being her first and one she came to rely on and then she was cast aside and forgotten without so much as a goodbye and how it affected her upbringing by isolating her and how the hate festered, bringing her to the point where she started the village so not only no pony else could be hurt like she was, but that no one would be able to hurt her again. It would have really helped for the audience to sympathize with her, but time restraints I guess.
I am not sure why there are some people who are disappointed with the episode, it was amazing and one of the best the show has to offer for me personally. Although it was not as funny or had as much pew pew as other finales, what I loved about this season's finale was the stakes really were high. Unlike other finales and openers where the Mane 6 suddenly go OP in the last 5 minutes, Twilight and Spike were on their own and were fighting an uphill battle the entire time, and seeing Twilight repeatedly try to overcome and fail against an opponent more powerful was pretty entertaining. The potential futures were also intense and pretty dark. The heel face turn and shoe horned back story for Starlight did feel unnatural and rushed, especially after that stand off where Starlight was contemplating ruining the future forever to get her revenge. But other than that, the finale was amazing and now I am excited more than ever for Season 6.
It crazy how brainwashed can be to do this sort of thing and believe they are doing their god's work. But then again, we have people here who support BLM.
Honestly, if that means even better quality episodes, I think I can wait. But it will still be a hard wait, no doubt.
Discord never disappoints. I really liked this episode, and the moral especially is a relatable one. Lots of reference as well, the most notable for me was the Back To the Future one and as always voice work and animation are top notch. The episode does a really good job of juggling whether or not everyone besides Twilight and Discord had a great time, or it is was all a trick. Spike has also been on a role being a playing a significant role these last few episodes. The only problem I had with the episode is like Twilight, we were left out on the inside jokes and they never delve much into what happened so we could appreciate them, and the episode's humor relies on them a lot. But, I can understand that it enforces the episode's moral that sometimes the jokes others have might not be funny or seem weird to you, and you really had to be there in that time to experience yourself. I also felt bad for Discord in the end as the rest of the Mane 6 made him feel left out as they now had inside jokes he was not in on and used it to their advantage to make him feel bad, but then I realized Discord basically trolled Twilight the entire episode knowing she was jealous and made her feel worse, but maybe he did it so she could come in terms and process the feelings she was having instead of suppressing them, believing nothing was wrong. Or again, maybe he was just trolling her. I also love that now Discord is on good terms with everyone now. Overall, another strong addition to the already amazing second half of Season 5.

Wow, that episode did not end how I expected it would. This episode had everything, more details on Nightmare Night over the decorations, costumes, and traditions of how it is celebrated. We get callbacks from Nightmare Night and Filly Vanilli and Bats!, anime ponies, the cowardly lion, the CMC turning to a couple of trickers, insight into Fluttershy ' true fears, Psycho reference, Spike playing a vital and realistic role, and towards the end the episode actually became suspenseful, and a bit scary, and probably more! Not to mention the ending was completley unexpecting in my opinion and made the episode's moral much more impactful. Overrall, this episode was the perfect to start off Nightmare Night(Ops, I mean Halloween) and I can not wait to treat or treat later tonight.

I will not say it is a "very" good show, but it is not something I will watch if I could change the channel. I agree, by today's standards it is better than a lot of junk that is out there, but I still do not enjoy it. I did not find out about its fandom until long after I had given up on the show, so it really does not have any influence on my opinion.
