I believe you're right about an Independent Party needing to fight it out in the minor leagues and earn it's spurs before strapping on a national election. Power bases are built from the bottom up; that's why they're called a "base".
Distasteful as it is to me, too, Boxer is a U.S. Senator and, as such, is entitled and expected to assert authority over a Brigadier General, nor does she need to be afraid of any loyal officer in the U.S. military. The USE of authority is not the issue, rather the ABUSE of authority. She had no right to take that tone of voice with a buck private who had given no offense to her senatorial rank, the committee she was sitting on, or her self, personally. Her conduct was a disgrace to herself, her party, and to the senate as a legislative body.

The British .303 used cordite; you might buy some of their old surplus rounds, weigh out the propellant charge and do the math charge vs, projectile weight. I assume (with all that entails) that a standard primer will ignite it. Might want to charge small, for safety, on your first few attempts.
Good luck, if you decide to try it. Let me know how it works out.
Oh, yes; one of my Bros' experimenting with making gun-cotton propellant. We'll have to see how that works out.

"Torture" is a very elastic term, capable of stretching to cover whatever the user wants. When I was given the "water cure" (as it was lightheartedly referred to then) it was called "training". For the record, I didn't like it worth a damn. Still less did I appreciate being trussed up in the ropes or squatting in a tiger-cage all night. Thousands of us endured it, and still do today.
I guess you could define as torture being exposed to CS tear-gas and being ordered to remove your mask long enough to recite name, rank, and serial number. I definitely felt abused at the time. Millions of us have endured that, and still do today.
Very anemic "torture", considering all the really inventive ways that exist to turn your own nervous system into your worst enemy.

Let's analize that statement: "alive", meaning "still exists". Yes, since 1920-something, if I recall correctly. So does the American National-Socialist (Nazi) Party, with about an equal number of misguided adherents. "Well", meaning "no bounty has yet been posted on said adherents". Again, true. Astonishly tolerant of such a Cro-Magnon society as ours, isn't it?

I'm not personally acquainted with Winecup, but I think we'd get along together quite well. More than I can predict for you and me, Parlor Pink. That flag you display, erroneous as the ideals are that it represented, was honored by the blood of an entire generation of heroes. I believe that the men who fought under it at Stalingard, Kursk, Leningrad, etc. would not be amused to find it being flaunted by a yapping, ankle-humping little chihuahua such as yourself.

You wouldn't bullsh!t us about that, would you? Incidentally, that's a nice flag; very appropriate. They lost, too.

By my readings of other documents from that same era, "well-regulated" was their term for "standardized". The idea being that each militiaman muster with a weapon capable of firing government-provided ammunition. The gist of the text, then, would be that every man of militia age has an absolute right to procure, own, and keep the current military-issue weapon, or any similar weapon capable of accepting issue ammunition.
The modern equivalent would be "any weapon chambered for the 5.56 x 45 mm NATO cartridge and capable of seating the issue 30-round box-magazine." Am I right?

Finally, learn and teach the art of passive resistance. This often takes the form of civil disobedience. For example, the first move towards firearms confiscation is always registration, right? This will probably take the form of a law being passed requiring you to pick up a registration form, list all your weapons, and mail it in. Simply don't do it. In the words of Nancy Reagan, just say "No!" They will either have to blush and forget it or plan on going door-to-door looking for guns. They cannot kick in everyone's door simultaneously; mathematically impossible. If you've done your homework and are wired into the first-responders' grapevine, you'll know exactly where and when they're going while the raid is still in the planning phase; plenty of time to get out a warning to the folks in that area. Guns? We ain't got no guns here, ossifer.

Next, volunteer for something; volunteer fire department, rescue squad, police auxilliary, your county emergency management agency, anything, it doesn't matter what. They're all desperate for manpower and won't refuse any presentable volunteer. Take all the training they offer, attend all the meetings, show up for every call-out and work detail. Be useful and willing; befriend the professional cops, firefighters, paramedics, and especially the dispatchers. Don't be obvious, just be natural and helpful. This accomplishes three things: first, your community probably really does need the help; second, you are now a known personality, a trusted comrade, a fellow good-guy, seen as one of "us" instead of "them"; third, you will now be wired in to the first-responder grapevine, an excellent place to gather intelligence.

The Commissioner of State Police and the State Adjutant (commander of the National Guard in my home state) have both very quietly stated that they will not mobilize their men to enforce firearms-confiscation or any other radical oppressive agenda. Their reasons are that their men and their dependants all live in the communities where they would be expected to do the Progressives' dirty work. They would, in fact, be oppressing their own relations and neighbors, and making themselves vulnerable to retaliation. Whether or not they've said so, the same considerations have to be in the minds of officials in your state, too.
To help keep it fresh in their minds, maybe it would be a good idea to compile a list of where all of the state, county, and municipal officials live. This is not a crime and the information is probably available from public sources, e.g. county tax records, voter registries, etc. Take no further action. Word will quickly get back to the individuals in question that someone's scoping them out. They're not usually stupid people; they'll understand why and, hey, no crime has been committed, right?

This is my first visit here; just enrolled today. I find it interesting that there are already concerns about agents provocateurs infiltrating 912. Your concerns are valid, they most assuredly are here.
It's right out of the textbook for Counter-Insurgency 101: "in any mass of disaffected population ... there is inevitably a very minute percentage of individuals capable of making the translation of their grievances from passive protest to armed insurrection. ... The first task of the CI operative therefore must necessarily be to identify, surveille, and to quietly neutralize - preferably with a sufficient degree of social ignominy to prevent perceived martyrdom - the individuals before this group can crystalize into an active cadre." Your tax dollars at work.
Incidentally, "quiet neutralization" is neatly achieved through any number of less-than-lethal means. "The Dirtiest Deeds, Done in the Dirtiest Places, Dirt Cheap."
My handle is "Osage". I'm not a nice man, but I've been there/done that and I'm on your side. I'll help if I can.
