Such a magical cover. Considering that most of these fans have been making their own musical scores for the Skyward Sword compositions, it's even more impressive. What a great xmas/Christmas/Yule gift!

Motion controls, as stated by this article, brought a whole new depth to item usage, which more than made up for the limited inventory. Of course, I would have liked more versatility with the beetle, whip, and clawshot, but using these items was nevertheless very satisfying in-game.

I still wished that they could have added magic into Skyward Sword (a small quip). I mean, how awesome would it be if you could physically punch the ground with your wii remote, and create a shock wave of fire on screen, like Link had done with Din's Fire? EPIC

Great article. I am sure the next installment in the series will only make Link's arsenal more adaptive and versatile. Batman may not be the only one with smooth gadgetry :)

After my experience with Skyward Sword, I am glad Miyamoto-san and Aonouma-san are in mutual agreement about the implementation of motion controls. I can't see myself button mashing in a dungeon like I did in the previous installments. It will be interesting to see how they use the Wii U controller, now that they have all but confirmed their preference for the wii motion plus. Who knows though, there's a possibility that new attachments other than the controller itself may arise with the console (keep in mind the one we saw at E3 was a prototype). Perhaps Nintendo might expand on the already stellar accuracy of the wii motion plus? Personally, I can't wait for Zelda's future :)

Quick question, but is this deal taking into consideration the people who already ordered the bundle online before news of the gift card? I'm wondering this because I had ordered the zelda bundle from gamestop on the 25th, and it did not include the gift card initially.

Skyward Sword really does exemplify gaming excellence, both in the developmental process and in execution. I'm only past the second dungeon, but I can already tell the motion controls and gameplay are phenomenal, even though I suck at using them :p even now I am still trying to work out this new, innovative method of playing games, and I am enjoying every moment. Music, motion control, and soundtrack...this is an experience like no other. Miyamoto's five years of hard work has payed off in full.

Oh, and the 25th anniversary orchestra CD? EPIC. Fully encompasses the Zelda spirit in every way, the Anniversary Melody specifically.

I think Tom Mcshea should take a look at this. Maybe he will learn that certain games require certain control inputs, or is that concept too complicated?

To be honest the sharper look does make it look a lot better from a graphical standpoint, but like Jordan's view, I felt something was....off. The impressionist art is still present, but the sharper, defined look detracts from the overall style, where objects and characters don't seem to be as surreal without the blurring effect. 1080p takes a lot of the vibrancy and life out of the game, so I think I'll stick to standard definition.

I'm surprised, Spike TV! You do the Zelda series, as well as the gaming industry in general, great honor. Next I expect the Mario series to enter that Hall of Fame.
