Helloooo my people. My mom made my sister and I prairie dresses and bonnets and we wore them outside ALL SUMMER and I did this until I was way too old, like 12...
The UP is my parents' favorite place to vacation because it has even fewer people than the rural area we're from :) I have lots of good memories up there including driving all over with a girl I didn't realize I was in love with as a teen.
Same, I lurked on the Hairpin and then migrated here in the beginning and lurked for... a year or so? And then started my sparse but beloved commenting habit.
Re: Slack, I am finding I can really only keep up with one really active channel (hey #workouts :D) and a few less active channels and the rest I just have to let pass me by :(
I got some for November too!
I'm 25 and people my age from home sell the nail sticks and body... wraps? One of my cousins who is my age sold Lia Sophia before they went out of business. No one I know here does it. Home for me is rural Wisconsin and I live in a big city now so it might be location more than age?
I am still working on my ToastPost too! Don't worry everyone, they're coming! I'm making you all little paintings.
I've never had wisdom teeth but when I had a whole bunch of cavities filled recently, I bought noodle soup from the Korean place in my neighborhood the day before and left it in the fridge overnight so the noodles got soft enough to smash against the roof of my mouth with my tongue.
Guys i had a dream last night that Nicole bought a house in Queens to be used as a Toastie hangout space and I went to New York to visit the house and all y'all were already there and painting murals all over the house <3
My OCD is centered on Catholic beliefs I was raised with and when I was a teenager I became really religious in hopes that God would make the intrusive thoughts stop (I didn't know they were intrusive thoughts at the time; I thought I was a monster). The OCD was finally diagnosed and treated in the last few years and now I'm subclinical (yay!) but yeah, I think if I heard a call back to religion it would be really scary.
