My first wife was from Blount County, AL (Oneonta). I've been all around it; they some nice covered bridges. The worst part about going up there was having to drive over to the next county for our liquor every day - her relatives "didn't drink" - i.e. too damned lazy to drive to the store, but they'd drink whatever we bought.

I've never understood dry counties. The neighboring counties are more than happy to take your tax dollars, though.
