Not long before "Cheaper by the Dozen" (1950), I had started going to movies other than Sat. matinees with the usual westerns, Roy Rogers, etc. Did you realize that Planned Parenthood was mentioned in it? I watched it not long ago and was surprised to see that. Someone sent this birth control crusader over to this family's home who had 12 children as a joke. Wonder if they ever dreamed it would lead to abortions today? I didn't know it was in existence then.
Anything about Brittany is the last thing I want to know about! She is irrelevant in my opinion. Her headlines are attention grabbers but not for her benefit as she apparently presumes.
Just got on this thread - have been enjoying reminiscing about the movies - sometimes a diversion is needed and it was quite fun. I haven't had time to read what everyone's been talking about but it is late and I just wanted to say before retiring; I didn't appreciate Bill interrupting Greta! I thought it was rude, she should have been allowed to answer without all those interuptions. He was at his worst with her tonight; she kept her cool though. Greta treats all guests with respect and that is what draws me back to her show. Thanks Greta.
She was such a great talent - bringing much joy to her audience, I'm sorry her life wasn't the same - she has her love of pets in common with Greta.
Famous people have agents, lawyers and surrogates who handle their lives and their money; they many times create a rift with their physical family. Then it is open season, they are at their mercy and think they are their only true friends. It is really quite sad to be manipulated. Who knows if she got on the drugs or if others wanted her smashed? I always felt her mother was being railroaded, of course they said she didn't want to see her mom. Wonder why? I would be livid if someone stole my child's affections and created chaos for them. Maybe the facts will come to the surface now.
Sometimes the investigation takes a while, but I hope they are brought to justice. It seemed they had long been forgotten and what about her son? Heard that her wealthy husband's estate isn't settled either, there is a lot left to clear the air on this one.
Did you catch my post on the next page about Cheaper by the Dozen (1950), I included some interesting trivia?
Couldn't forget those - my favorite was Pillow Talk, but when found VIP was a cheap drunk now that was a hoot.
The Robe with Richard Burton and Liz Taylor were all great Bible epics. I always watch Sound of Music, don't think I would ever tire of it.
Weren't they all great - those costumes were just gorgeous! I liked June Allyson, Debbie Reynolds and Jane Powell of course there were those great looking guys Howard Keel, Gene Kelly, and not in musicals but Jeff Chandler.
