Oh my goodness, this was amazing. So cutting and sad but simultaneously so hilarious and silly. In my heart I hope your folks become the best allies they can be. Thanks for your courage and for your writing.

Amen to this - a sense of mature biological perspective is so beneficial, which in my experience that often looks a lot like immaturity and cracking wise and just being in it together.

First and second time, largely uncomplicated and no-injury births, I was back on the horse well within the 6 weeks and 9 times! And I feel spiritually understood by someone else who prioritizes sex over cleaning and sleep.

With #3, who was sunny-side-up, I actually ended up with severe burning pain even well after the 6 weeks, so I wanted to put in a good word for your friendly neighbourhood pelvic physiotherapist. I did not know why or how things were not going right, but it turned out I had some invisible nerve damage and she had me sorted in just a handful of sessions. It was remarkable, the improvement. So there's another disclaimer to add to the pile - do not endure real pain, AND there are people there whose #1 job is fixing it if you have it, you're not alone!

That's reassuring, actually. Thanks!

Now solve "idiot building managers requiring keys for office washrooms because of utterly neglible risk of washroom havoc."

Oh my god what an image. I am trying to decide whether upside-down or month-late is worse and it's actually a damn toss-up. ;)

Congratulations, thank you for writing your story I AM NEVER GOING IN A STAIRCASE EVER AGAIN PREGNANT OR NOT!

My third was posterior presentation (not so much to the side like your dude, but definitely sunny side up, and head cocked like he was on the phone). I managed first stage better than the other two but delivery was a knees-to-the-ears, midwife-elbows-deep-yanking kind of experience.

So glad you got relief when you needed it!

I cannot disagree with anything here and yet I loved it. To quote a tumblr user: "Here is my feeling about this movie: it is your garbage. It is garbage for you. “Is this how straight dudes feel at the movies all the time????” I hissed SEVERAL times during this movie. “Like someone carefully noted down your early pubescent fantasies and then threw 100 MILLION DOLLARS at them?”

I hated the ending; I hated that she didn't make ANY change, use ANY of her agency, new knowledge, power. But I am honestly stoked that there might be a sequel where she does step up to the plate and face down her antagonist (who must be the sweet, friendly, but totally addicted to regenex sister) and find a new way to make humanity flourish throughout the universe. something something BEES?
