They look like UW kids. The kaffiyeh is pretty common on State St, sadly enough.

My own experience at the last company I worked for: Employee pays half of health insurance, in my case it was ~$270 per month. The company matched half of the 401(K) contribution, up to 3% of the employee's salary, and not vested until 5 years of employment. It's a compant of 4500, and I'd be surprised if 200 have been there 5 years, but that's another story (for more details, read the reviews at www.glassdoor.com and see Epic Systems Corporation).

one thing at a time. Divide and conquer.

The "high-speed" train from Madison to Milwaukee/Chicago would go 60 mph. I 90/94 is 65 mph. Walker rejected it, but I wish Obama could do simple math. Save everyone a lot of time and trouble.

It's half the cost of their pension, and 12% of their health insurance. At my job (recently laid off), I had to pay over half my health insurance, and 66% of my 401(K)--company matched 50% of employee contributions, up to 3% of the employee's salary. Guess we should've unionized.

I'd be willing to fill in as a temp. I'll even change my affiliation to Democrat so we can get the legislative ball rolling. It would lend the coveted Bipartisan tag to the bill, too. :)

It's the AFL-CIO here, but the sentiment is the same. These union teachers care so much about the students that Madison schools have been closed for the last two days because of all the teachers calling in "sick." Ain't unions grand?

I agree with you on Faith of the Fallen. I had the whole run of the series--I recently sold all of them except Faith and the conclusion trilogy.

People have a love/hate relationship with Goodkind. He's got more than enough nudity, sex, rape and bdsm--some books are more rife with it than others. There's also some internal inconsistency with his characters--the ends justify the means for both the villains and the heroes, and often it's the same means for similar ends. IE., Kill everyone who disagrees with you and you'll have world peace.

The series does have all the trappings of the great fantasy of yore.

I agree. It's got heroes who are noble, mosters who are vile, people who pretend to be evil but are really more good than they'd dare admit. There's a character for every fantasy fan, and an even chance that the character will die. It's really good, but Martin has writer's block something fierce. The fifth book in the series has been "forthcoming" for years now: http://isadancewithdragonsoutyet.com/
