Damage controlling?? Damage controlling is when Nintendo includes a feature like this in a game and they get slapped with a class action lawsuit by stupid parents and greedy lawyers that say the option to turn off the vice chat was not clearly explained or some other horse shit.

You are simply a selfish moron looking at things only from your perspective.. However, this is to be expected. How can we expect you to have the capacity to think of other's best interests when you cannot even control yourself?

All boils down to the risk versus the reward for voice chat.. The world is getting pretty messed up.. I think a pure voice chat is too much liability for Nintendo.. Perhaps pregenerated comments through voice over and the characters say the tactics you want to employ?
