I have been an avid Gawker reader for many years and I can honestly say that 90% of the reason I visited the site (20+ times per day) was for the comments. I wasn't a big commenter, but the comments were the draw. Sure, I love me some of Richard's recaps, but my true love is (rather, was) the comments. That's why I visited the site. That's why I generated hundreds of page views a day. How did Nick miss that?!
