Nicely done Dave. I haven't seen or heard much of Glenn lately (work, work) but I did find the segment on YouTube. I don't think you are a "crazy militia type". I too wonder what will we do when they come knocking on our doors to collect our guns. Once we surrender them over the battle to keep them will be over as well. We all need to be of the same mind when it comes to what we will do when the line is crossed. I don't like being compared to Timothy McVay but I don't want to be compared to a passivist that gave up his guns either. What do we do? Where is the orginization that can lead us at the proper time? Shouldn't we be ready "before" the movement to disarm the citizens begins? Are you listening Glenn? We know their are nut cases out there but what about the rest of us?! What good are my guns if I can't use them to defend myself from enemies (domestic)? I admire your passion for this issue Dave. (wish we could agree on Principle #2)

I feel that believing in Principle #2 is a very important part of truely being a member of the 9-12. It doesn't make you a bad person, just perhaps not the best for the 9-12. I am sure their are other orginazations that have people with your same view. Just google "liberal" or "moderate" and their should be plenty of choices for you to pick among. Maybe that is a little harsh but I guess if principle #2 wasn't in there I wouldn't be a member and then maybe I should go google "right wing" or "extremist" myself. (I am sure you could think of more) It's ok, I can dish it out, and I can take it!

Well said khayes1, even tho jkopecky and Dave my disagree. Marriage is a commitment that many are affraid to make. God ordained marraige as a commitment between a man and a woman much like the way he is commited to us and we are to him once we have accepted him. Commitment is a scarey thing to people that only have selfish motives and want an easy way out. I am glad God gave marraige to a man and a woman. I am glad our sodiers are "commited" to defending our country. What would we do if they all fled when the battle got too difficult or they just got tired and wanted to go home? Marriage is a commitment plain and simple. Living together is merely a gesture of good faith and intent. Should gays be allowed "marriage" protected by law? Absolutely not! If the government wants to call it something else, fine but marriage is a religious matter between a man and a woman and God. Government keep your paws off!

mcdonsco, you are developing an uncanny knack for provoking response from the religious. If you want to move along the discussion... then by all means, move on!

Either God is the most imprtant thing in ones life or he is not imprtant at all. He can't be 2nd or 3rd, he is God! We can accept God as the number one priority if you believe in him, and then call on him for guidence in matters relating to getting this nation back on track with it's policies. I think that over time there will be less religious talk. My view is that since God is the most important issue in most peoples lives, once this importance is established we can move on to the other issues. Let's start at the top of the list and work down.

We have to fight these laws that take away our right to own firearms before they are enacted and fight even harder after they are enacted. I am not going to just sit on my couch and watch the television with my fingers crossed hoping each day enough people fought hard enough to get something done that I want done. Then go to work griping and complaining about how the country is going to " hell in a handbasket! " We all have to get off our butt and do something, anything to get the attention of those in power and let them know we disapprove or approve of what they are doing. Even if you have to go after their supporters (campain contributers etc.) I would not suggest breaking any carry laws. That can only lead to trouble for you. Obtain a permit to carry legaly, and if your state or local government has laws against them, then rinse and repeat above. But if there ever comes the time we must "surrender" our firearms completely... I would consider that to be crossing the line! Then you can sit on your couch and watch me on television from a helicopter cam defending my 2nd amendment right! (did you hear that mayor Nagin!?)

To tell the truth BR80, I have never heard of the 5000 year leap, but it sounds like a must read. Like I have said before, the truth seems to always find its way to the surface in all of us eventually. Just hope it will not be to late for most.

Calm down Fisk202, no one is saying that people in this country are perfect or ever has been. In fact when it comes to being imperfect, Christians are the first ones to get the finger pointed at them. We are imperfect, all of us are, but where we grow stronger is in realizing it. The Jim Crow laws were not part of the constitution and were instituted by state and local laws. The point is they were wrong and we learned that. The constitution prevailed just as the truth always does. We can learn from our mistakes and we can admit our faults and then move on. The good and bad things from the past are a part of our heritage, but which do you choose to embrace? Is it healthy to dwell on the mistakes of your own life? Or should we admit our wrong, acknowledge what was the right thing to do and continue down a right path? So to bring you back on point, God was and is an issue not only in our government but in our daily lives. Even tho we are imperfect, the ideals and principles that our nation was founded on were based on a perfect ideology. So lets forget the mistakes and remember the greatness and always acknowledge God as the inspiration behind the constitution and I promise not to blow you up!

Thank you JQ_Citizen for rectifying that for me. It means much more the way that you stated it. I appreciate you for noticing and publishing the correct intent. Maybe now with your reply the message in that statement means even more to those that read it. (it did to me)

The United States of America! A wonderful concept created by our founding fathers under the influence of thier Christain heritage and the Holy Bible even tho they did not require one to worship "thier" God, but only to follow the laws written in the constitution. I don't mean to keep commenting on "God" and his influence on this nation but it still seems to be a hot topic. So why is God such an issue? I believe it is because most people believe that in order to be an American you must be a Christain. That is not true. It is true our founding fathers were Christains and the republic they formed was created around Christain principles and morals. True Christianity is a very tolerant religion thus making the United States a very tolerant nation except when our rights, liberty and freedom are threatened. This was so evident in our earliest years as a nation. Immigrants came from all corners of the earth to live here and were recieved. Everyone knew that America was a country of mostly Christian people and that Christians were very tolerant of thier differences. All Americans wanted was for the immigrants to be tolerant of "thier" differences. People came here knowing the Christian priciples that most Americans believed and that this nation was founded upon and there were no problems because they knew that even if they were not Christian that thier rights to worship and to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness would never be infringed because Christians were "tolerant". This was accepted by all that immigrated here. We stood side by side on the front lines of many wars fighting and dying for this great nation not to protect Christianity but to defend the constitution and our "freedom". But now people flow into this country and are even born here with the intent of "changing" those principles, morales and even the laws that the constitution was written to protect, but in doing so would destroy the very fabric of which this republic was founded, eroding the laws and rights one by one untill America is no longer "America". So I ask all who read this that are not "Christians", can we agree that we must protect the constitution reguardless of religous beliefs or ideology? Can we agree that what the founding fathers did was good and thier intent was for the good of "all"? Can we agree together that changing "anything" in the constitution would dilute the strength of this nation? And lastly, can we agree that Christians founded this country and that's ok because you can still worship however, whatever and whoever you want? Then why try to fix something that is not broke? The system is breaking down currently because people keep trying to fix (change) it! I hope everyone watched the video that was posted on this site by the administrators on the difference between a Democracy and a Republic. This nation is a Republic governed by laws. Laws that are governed by the constitution. Notice governed by the "constitution" and not the Christian God even tho inspired by him. A republic that will stand as long as it does not become a democracy voted right out of its constitutional "pants"! Accept the truth about the influence of God in the forming of our republic. Appreciate the fact that it is this God who gave our founding fathers the wisdom that gave you the liberties and freedoms you have today! And be thankful that the government here in America will not force you to worship any god that you do not choose. Wake up and just accept the fact that Christians founded this nation, now go out and protect it! If you don't agree with it, immigrate to a country that better suits you. But if you decide to stay, I will fight to the death to protect you and your rights granted you by this wonderful country! "I pledge allegence to the flag of the United States of America, and to the "Republic" for which it stands, one nation, under "God" (undeniable fact that God had a role in forming this nation) with liberty and justice for "all"! Now let's all go out and vote out all that wish to do harm to this country. Vote out all that are against a republic. Vote out all that are for an ever increasing government (before we are taxed to the point of rebellion). Vote out all that want to take away "any" of the rights guaranteed us by the constitution. Vote out all who want to not just "separate" the church and state but "remove" the church from the state! (this is for everyones sake) "God bless all of you and God bless the United States of America!"
