As for this statement: The Senator in no way favors banning gun ownership. Senator Ensign apparently knows that guns are the only option that we have against a repressive government should our fundamental rights of liberty be further violated by the liberal radical socialists. Just my opinion.
Resorting to violence is not the answer in our society the way it is. The government is already in control and no one questions it enough to start an armed revolution. Plus, citizens with guns won't matter when fighting the government because the government has tanks, ships, fighter jets, bombs, nukes, etc. Anyway, right wing fantasies like that won't come true, at least not in this lifetime.
You talk about radical socialists imposing on people's fundamental rights. You have the definition completely wrong. Socialism is a political and economic ideology that is about distributing justice fairly to a population. This ensures that everyone starts off in life equally with no advantages over anyone else. Read John Rawls and some Marx. If you think they are evil socialists it is because their reputation was ruined by the Soviet Union. The concepts Rawls and Marx talk about are supposed to be applied to an industrialized society like the US. The Soviet Union was agriculturally based. They wanted to skip industrialization and go to a society that is socialist without that industrial background. As you can see, they failed and in the process, gave socialism a bad name. If you look at what it tries to achieve, it still preserves people's fundamental rights. Lets start a formal debate topic on this either on the forums or in another blog post.
Anyway, there are also radical conservatives like yourself (and I don't mean it in a derogatory way) . A Libertarian fights for individual freedom without the interference with a government. Without a strong body to enforce laws so people don't do whatever they want, chaos will be everywhere. It is wishful thinking to assume that everyone will be good to one another. That works until someone is not. The only way to have such a society, it would need a very strong level of control preventing people from doing as they please. This will require a dictatorship. It is a limited government just as you want. The executive branch is very small. It is one or two people.
If human nature was such that everyone got along and did what is right to others, then in fact, government would not be needed OR government is used as a vehicle to do good things for a large number of people (which is what I want government used for).

Also, why do you think Fox is better than everyone else? Why is it always when there is a Democratic president, the right hates him and vice versa? The man hasn't been in office for a year, yet you call him inept. Would you say the same for a Libertarian president? What do you not like about President Obama? What do you not like about the news networks that are not Fox? Is your dislike for them because they do not believe the same things as you or do you have actual reasons for disliking them?

I still don't understand why people think that the president is a liar but a house member is not. This is clearly about who is in which party.
The democrats will not be ousted in 2012 because there is a silent majority of people who hate what the republicans have done to the country these past 8 years with their polices.
