Yes, Imjohngalt is right. Hydrocarbon is going to the the best fuel for a long time to come. Even is land vehicles convert oto alternatives, aircraft still need hydrocarbon fuel. There is no alternative for aviation.

We still need to secure domestic fuel production. We can make all the fuel we need from domestic feed stock like biomass, coal and solid waste. We need to build a domestic fuel grid where we have production in all parts of the country just like we have a power grid.

When there is failure on one part of the "grid" the other portions pick up the slack to secure that everything keeps running until production is back up.
