The non-economy (or hunting/gathering economy) doesn't last long in advanced countries unless there is complete anarchy (i.e. Hurricane Katrina), but usually order is restored relatively quickly.

I think they just make everything at least PG to play it safe in case some parent gets offended by something and tries to sue.

The villain reminds me of the villain from Total Recall that controls the supply of air on Mars.

In reality, when businesses own the land where the natural resources (in this case trees) are found, they have every economic incentive to replenish those resources (i.e. plant new trees).

It is only in the case of public (i.e. government) land that people don't feed the need to clean or replenish the environment.

It's like the saying about public restrooms. Since "everyone" owns them, nobody cleans them.

Poverty means you can't afford basic necessities. If you own two cars, a cellphone, and a $150 deluxe cable package ... guess what? You are NOT poor.

I understand that Liberals would like nothing more than to declare everyone poor so that they can be dependent on government and vote Democrat.

I can tell you why our "poverty" rate is so high. It's because the Democrats keep lowering the bar, and declaring people who are comfortably in the middle class as in poverty.

The US Poverty Rate is currently about 14.3% (43.6 Million) at the end of 2009. However 15% (45.8 Million) are on Food Stamps, and 47% (143.5 Million) pay no income taxes. Notice that there are 100 million people who are not in poverty, but are deemed too poor to pay their taxes, and at least 2.2 Million who are not in poverty, but are deemed too poor to buy their own food.

Also keep in mind that being "poor" includes law students who are having so much sex that they are spending $1000 a year on birth control and condoms.

"Clueless Socialists" is redundant. They don't call them useful idiots for nothing.

You have a point. I think Romney needs to choose his words very carefully whenever he hears the words "ban" in a sentence.

Hopefully nobody asks him a question about deodorant. http://www.feelbanfresh.com/

yeah they would, but the media would only focus on Mitt's bumbles, while praising Obama as the most brilliant man in the world.

Yeah, at least Cain would admit it when he wasn't familiar with the subject being discussed.

"What Do Democrats Have Against Guns and Gun Rights?"

Gun rights are the ultimate representation of individualism. Democrats are by nature collectivists who loathe individualism. They aren't against guns in general, just in the concept of individuals who don't answer to them having them.

Some people think that it's a Communist plot to disarm the population, and that may be true for many Progressive Democrats, but it's really just about control. It's the same kinds of people who run home-owners associations that tell people that that can't decorate their own house how they want, and otherwise harass people using laws to force conformity.
