There's a significant problem with the912project.com site. Before I explain what it is - please know I"m 100% behind this site and I mention this not as a complaint or in anger, but in hopes that you will address it and fix it - which will make the site that much more useful and powerful.
As I understand it - at least one of the goals of the site is to give people a place to find each other to build grass roots efforts in their local communities.
Unless I'm completely blind and missing something, I'm not clear on how I am to find those in my community that I can either join with, or attempt to have jump on board, any particular project.
Right now the site is, essentially, a mosh pit of posts. Everyone, from everywhere is posting about everything.
Sure, if I just happen to be lucky enough to catch a post from someone in my area I can write them directly and potentially work with them - but then the problem of finding others from my area on this site still remains.
You announced today that you have over 350,000 members here and are shooting for 1 million. I can't imagine how much worse this problem will become as that many more people are added to the roster.
A good example of the problems this is creating is that many grass roots efforts are being duplicated. Not the least of which is the many disparate groups that are marching on washington on different days. I'm not suggesting that there can't be different days for marches, only that they are more effective when we all work together and show up on the same day.
The solution to this is actually pretty simple, and is two fold:
Create a set of forums here and, at the very least, divide it into two sections - national and local movements.
In the national movement section people would post things such as marches on DC or legislative action that is harmful to our country. As certain posts begin to gain popularity that post can be moved to the "announcement" so that it sits at the top of the post list and others can see, right away, whether or not there's a group organizing for the particular movement. This in no way suspends others from doing something similar by posting another post for the same issue (for instance marching on a different day) and then they can also gain "announcement" status if their post becomes significantly popular as well.
But even more importantly, there needs to be a local forum that is divided by state. Each state should be listed individually. I did this on our local site here (we also use phpbb as you do on your main glennbeck.com insider area) and it took about 15 minutes.
This way people can go right to the forum of their state, then start posting things happening in their state.
This one change would make this site phenomenally more effective and useful and I sure hope you'll do it.
