1) Return to Gold Standard
2) Term Limits - 3 for House, 2 for Senate
3) All Committee meetings MUST be open to the public, minutes of meetings must be posted, in detail, within 24 hours of the most recent session. Chairs must be appointed with each incoming "class" and will be done by secret ballot to ensure that a Representative/Senator that votes against party lines will not be pressured as they would be with an open vote.
4) ALL members of Congress, including staffers, MUST attend continuing education classes that deal with American History as it pertains to the Founding Fathers, the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and how the United States was founded, including founding principals of the Founding Fathers, and yes, there will be a test at the end. Congressional members and staffers that do not pass are subject to public ridicule and eggings (OK, can't do the second half, but we should be able to. Besides, egging is safer than stoning.)
5) Congress can no longer investigate any "wrongdoings" that happen with members. All investigations and inquiries will be handled by an outside party.
6) Do away with the Department of Education. Pass money that was used for that department, as well as federal funds down to local school districts.
7) 2/3 majority required for all tax increases, changes in tax codes that will result in any class paying more in taxes.
8) Simple majority to pass all tax decreases and changes in tax codes that will result in any class paying less taxes.
9) All Social Security dollars paid by Americans goes directly into a trust, under the individual's name, and can't be accessed until the individual reaches the specified age to begin receiving Social Security funds
10) Social Security payments, interest gained, etc. is no longer taxable.
11) Capital Gains tax permanently set at 5%
12) Interest gained on savings, checking, ANY money in banks is no longer taxable.
13) Open up health care across state lines for competition.
14) Set regulations that home mortgages can have an interest rate ranging from 4% - 8%, all dependent on certain factors.
15) Find Supreme Court Justices that will rule that the Line Item Veto IS Constitutional. (after all, there are governors that have that power)

Haven't any of you figured out that a leader was not elected president? Instead, 52% of the country voted for a celebrity.

I think Obama going on Leno as a sitting President is absolutely wrong, especially with what is going on in our country today. Instead of doing interviews with ESPN about filling out NCAA brackets and hitting the late night talk show circuit, maybe he should spend more time leading this country instead of using it as his own personal party.

I am VERY proud to say that my former Rep., and family friend, Kevin McCarthy (R-CA 22) voted AGAINST this.

So what you are saying is that if I want to leave my son in a position that he will have money for his needs, above and beyond what he has worked for when I pass on, you want to tax my gift to him? You are essentially saying that you are for punishing people who want to look out for the future of their children to see that they are able to take care of themselves, even if they work hard for what they already have. There is no excess, the wealth (no matter how much or how little) is passed on out of consideration for the future generations of my family and out of love.
