I'm disappointed with Culver in a couple of ways and I'm not gay and I don't have kids, but I support gay marriage and free, universal preschool. I don't like the anti-judiciary business the Republicans are pushing, either.
Thank you. I get sick and tired of buying tomatoes from Mexico, which is what all the local Target Superstores and WalMart superstores sell.
You're absolutely right - CR is geared towards people with children. That's great on the one hand, but as a 30-something, I find few people in my age group who do not have children and are college educated, which is why I can't wait to leave the state.
And there are some of us who want our federal government to spend A LOT LESS on wars -- money that could be spent on health care instead. I'll take government control any day over the insurance companies. And when you turn 65, be sure to not apply for Medicare.
"Police are 'likely' to ask the Iowa Department of Transportation to re-evaluate the woman for a driver’s license." I SURE HOPE SO!!! This 80-year driver is clearly a danger to society. Who's going to pay for this young's mans medical care? What if he doesn't have insurance? Will the driver pay for the medical care? I hope him or his family sues! And no, praying to "Jesus Christ" will not make everything better.
So what? It's called saving up enough and moving. Nurses face no more hurdles than other medical professionals and other professionals -- for example, lawyers. Stop feeling sorry for yourself.
I'm starting to think that all nurses should have to earn a BSN in order to practice because none of you can spell! -- something that should be mastered upon graduation from high school, don't you think? Regardless of profession, if you aren't earning the salary you think you deserve based on your qualifications and experience, then look elsewhere. You can't expect to live in the same city or state your whole life. That's how it is and that's how has been for years now. Despite 10-20% unemployment in this country, 80-90% are still employed and there are jobs advertised in this state as well as others so be proactive.
Only way to know is to see a list of the salaries of the people taking the early retirement. And your bet is dependent on whether you can get college graduates to stay in Iowa after graduation -- Wisconsin, Illinois and even Missouri are far more attractive states than Iowa because there's actually things to do there.
Dick Oshlo said "the salary of a replacement be no more than 50 percent of the worker leaving." Good luck, then, hiring quality workers as this state is well aware of the brain drain in this state. I don't blame college graduates for leaving. There are few good paying jobs here in either the public or private sector and there's nothing to do here. By the way, Dick, how much do you collect each year from Iowa's taxpayers in the form of your salary and benefits? Too much I bet.
This isn't about free speech. The UI and another other public college university for that matter is not obligated to show explicit material when there is no educational objective as clearly this case demonstrates. Go home if you want porn.
