Hi Brandon!

Thank you for stopping by and commenting! I like the artwork on your blog. :) Yes, blogging can most definitely be fun. The trick it to keep at it, which is something I haven't been doing. So I'm looking forward to changing that after moving to the new blog. :)

Hi Melinda!

Yes, To Do lists ROCK! :D

I've found that it really is more difficult to check items off the writing list than it is the home list. Maybe it's because we don't feel like we can concentrate if there are still items on the home list? That's part of the reason why I added that "You Nimrod" column - I needed to find a way to analyze the reasons why I didn't get some of my writing items done. :)

Hope these tips help! Thank you for stopping by and commenting. :)

Hi Jami!

You're most welcome! Again, you were a fantastic moderator! :)

Yes, I'm feeling much, much better. It took me until about late on Monday to really feel at a 100%, but of course I was trying to kick around anyway. LOL!

Hi Vanessa!

I really do suggest that you at sit down with a CPA or an Accountant and have a consultation. That in and of itself will help you decide whether or not you're ready to go that route. And they're especially helpful when it comes to the tax laws for authors - because those are different than any other type of business venture. The IRS knows that the publishing industry can be slow, so they're a bit more lenient with authors.

Bottom line that I learned last night: if you're serious about this, and you're spending money to learn, educate yourself, and get better and better at your craft for the purpose of publication, then it may be a good idea to begin tracking all of your expenses so you can write them off at tax time. But under the advice of a CPA in your area, of course. ;)

Hi Jessica -

LOL! I know, right? Some of those items are things I really didn't want to admit to myself, but I figured, "What the heck..." ;)

Hi Jenny!

Thank you! :) Oh, well, maybe they don't read 'during' the date per se, but I think it's a good rule of thumb to simply try and enjoy the entire evening without thinking about the craft.

P.S. - And yes, I have actually picked up my e-reader in the middle of dinner (at home) and read when I should've been watching TV with the hubs. LOL! ;)

Hi Annie,

Thanks! Ah, yes, kitties and flowers usually don't mix. We've got 2, but they've been pretty well trained not to jump on our desks. The dining room table is the only table top they haven't really listened to us on - they really get in trouble for that one - but for the most part, they keep away from our desks. Thank goodness. :)
