If it was on Netflix, I would watch a dark complex biopic about John Callahan, but only if he was played by Mickey Rourke. That's an interesting question, probably one that I will kick upstairs to the management in exactly 6 months or so --- once I've proven to myself and everyone else that I'm [ in it to win it ] / [ without an exit strategy ] / [ addicted to WARBLOGGING ] basically.

The only answer I have is that --- despite being a faithful Wonkette reader since 2004 --- I haven't been a commenter since 2012, when Liz Farkas and I started publishing our James O'Keefe scooplets. And even then, I do not comment a lot, because I sorta hate being caught publicly wrong (or otherwise not great) way, way, way more than I hate being obscure and ignorable.

(Really enjoying the mistaken impression that I am actually addressing a liberal-leaning primate with access to a computer, right now.)

I think you are correct on all accounts. I actually get "Michael Phelan" a lot from many, otherwise intelligent people and places: A small collection of inaccurate temporary IDs.
