I didn't read the poem (fight me) but I also believe the world is beautiful and, given the chance, most folks are good people. You can't deny that there's a lot of bad shit going down right now, but it's like mr Rogers' mom said: you'll always find helpers. (Alberta is my new home province and when i I read the article about Syrian refugees helping displaced fort macmurray residents I def got some dust in my eye)

What about their opinions on giant women? (Steven Universe has the best music)

Boaty McBoatface has given me indescribable joy.

Also, someday there will be a spaceship called Spacey McSpaceface, I just KNOW in my heart that this is true.

That slate article about cholera and Haiti, and the cdc covering up for the U.N., I feel like ten years ago it would have been big news, and now it's just not surprising at all.
Edit: and I'm sad and distressed about that

thank you for giving me an idea of what to do on salt spring island if my "be an artist/farmer" plan doesn't pan out.
edit: the boat thing, i mean, not the sandwich thing. I like boats. Well, I guess sandwiches are ok, but I don't want to make them all day.

That is an excellent descriptor for how I've been seeing myself lately, thank you!

Ok, this REALLY explains why the "friend" who eventually ended up trying to sleep with me while his wife was pregnant seemed like such a good friend at first. (for years prior, actually.) He'd spent some years teaching in japan, where he presumably picked up a few things about emotional labour as it relates to friendships.

right! thank you, i knew there was a name for it! So, basically, I'm imagining a freelance super, for homeowners and condo boards.

ok I know what you really meant by sod roof, but all I can think of now is having a hobbit house. I think Bag-end is a pretty respectable model for a house.
