It's too easy for the line to cross from history, to worship, so, to be safe, no songs like that should be allowed, for anyone. (especially not a leader.)

Anyways, as to the topic. There should never be a song praising a president, especially when he is still in office. To have Children sing songs is setting in their minds the celebrity complex towards our leader, that they should be admired and worshiped. When that happens, there is no longer free conscious to disagree with future leaders, since they will have been taught to agree with whatever they say since they must be "great" to have made it into office.
As for politics in schools, it should be treated as religion. (my idea of a school system, is where the kids are taught what every world religion believes, from their holy text or worldview, but none are promoted over the other).
You should explain what each party side believes, what the current president and court's policies and bills are, and the controversy over issues in simple facts. The teacher should be allowed to say who they vote for and why, BUT should encourage the children to talk to their parents and research political issues for themselves.

Not that much people seem to know the constitution nowadays...
And I notice this current administration has selective memory disorder. If it's good for them, or their agenda, they can easily remember it, but if they spent their whole lives listening to "God d--- America" then that becomes unpopular to identify with... they suddenly can't remember it at all!
Reminder to us on the right side, that if people point out the faults with republicans, to not deny it, to say, yes that happened, and I also agree it shouldn't have been done, but NEVER pretend it didn't happen.
