WWE got extremely lucky that the television industry is in such a state of flux. They're getting paid the amount they are because they're unique content, NOT because they have a must-see product.

I enjoyed his Legend Killer years before they took away his punt kick and toned down his psycho persona.

I've got to disagree, even though I do get your point. Backlash is stacked, as future PPV's should be now, too. That's a really good thing. WWE needs to do a better job of building their talent on free TV so that they warrant placment on the bigger shows, not just spamming PPV's so everyone gets a spot, like they have been doing. It waters down the importance of the PPV's and lessens the importance of competing on them. Now, if a wrestler does make a PPV card, it will do a lot more for them than those shows had been recently.

In relation to reason #9, I'm always surprised that lots of people don't want to point at the WWE now being a corporate entity when discussing why WWE has been in decline for so long. I asked Dave Meltzer on Twitter about this, more particularity if he thought it was safe to say that the WWE's decision to go public and become more corporate will eventually prove to be their undoing, and he seemed unwilling to even consider that it could turn out to be a bad idea. He just stuck to his guns about it making a lot of money at the time. While I agree with that, and would've done the same at the time, I still believe it's turned into something that hinders the company greatly. Wrestling should stay isolated from the corporate world, imo. We've seen what happens to it when it is overburdened with corporate red tape and bureaucracy.

Don't worry about being labeled crazy for giving Zayn/Nakamura a ***** rating, Tito. Anyone who disputes that should probably not watch pro wrestling anymore because they simply can't be properly appeased by it. I don't know if I've ever seen a match quite like that one before. Simply incredible.

Well said, sir. Matches like that are why I truly believe that when done at it's highest form, pro wrestling is the absolute peak of scripted entertainment. I've never read a book, played a video game, watched a movie or TV show that can make me feel like matches like Nakamura/Zayn did tonight. Moments like that are why wrestling fans literally endure years and years worth of mostly garbage product and keep coming back. That match is a reminder and proof of what professional wrestling can be when done to perfection.

Does it make me a bad person that when I saw Sami Zayn's name, my initial thought was "Please let it be Dillenger that got hurt..." That does make me a bad person, doesn't it? I'm sorry...I can't help how I am...

Maybe I'm wrong about his, but I'm pretty sure the WWE even made these guys switch seats. I could've sworn they were in front of the cameras when the show started, but when the Rock noticed them, they were behind the main cameras. Still front row, but moved. It blows my mind that the WWE have become oppressive to their own fans....I'm so glad the Rock brought far more attention to them after the WWE brass tried to get them out of view haha

Nah, he isn't in over his head. He's not going to be fighting killers right off the bat. When he does fight, it will be against someone of his own experience level. He might even be given some help with the booking...Add that to the fact that he is training with one of the top teams in the sport, and he will be just fine. I don't think anyone has ever looked at him as a future champ, just a way for the promotion to make some money.
