Lots of good ideas folks,but i have two comments
# 1: don't wait for someone else to do any of these ideas! you do them in your area. this is a local thing, that's what this is all about, keep the power local-away from DC! don't worry about what the 'logo' for Texas is if you are in Maine. the important thing is just to DO it! see if there are local (small) print shops that are sympathetic and work with them...During the great depression towns or groups of towns got together to 'print' their own 'script' money since the federal government couldn't fix the problem - Americans are problem solvers then and now, they did what any enterprising American would FIXED IT THEMSELVES! Don't wait for 'permission' just do what you think is good and if others thinks its good,then they'll join in.

#2-order some pocket constitutions, have them at your desk at work, pass them out to your neighbors/family, find out how many in your local high school's graduating class and order enough for each and see if the principal will pass them out with the diplomas.

the best way to spread the movement is through education. the better kids (and grown-ups)understand the constitution and where we really come from the stronger the movement will be because Truth is just so recognizable when contrasted with the lies that we are presented with currently.

Just think of the ignorance shown by the reporter who was trying to interview the man holding his 2 year old daughter, (at one of the Tea Parties) he started to talk about about the values of President Lincoln, and the reporter cuts him off asking what that had to do with taxes. the better educated we all get the more ridiculous interviews like that will play -in effect don't try to change 'them' concentrate on those directly around you we will spread faster than any of 'them' will ever understand.

I did the same thing for iron on paper and made me and my husband a Tshirt we wore to our tea party in manchester, nh, the snake, unite or die on the front, with the list of the principles surrounded by the values on the back...we had over 1,000people attend, est. were at 500-700 before hand, and we were only 1 of 10 parties in NH!

The one problem i see here is where you state 'the government would be obligated to pay the interest'...the government has no money of its own, its still OUR MONEY and until those in D.C. start really seeing it that way and are as embarrassed by the spending that they are doing as they might be embarrassed by spending say their own parents or children's bank accounts then we will get no where.

i do agree that we the people would do much better at paying down the debt with a 'debt reduction' donation/tax as you said added to the current 1040 than those in DC could do. they are just to much in the pockets of special interests or to addicted to the power to do the hard thing and that is to tell people 'NO' when they come with their hand out.

lets take the idea that most mom's tell their daughters when they start dating: "if they'll do it (cheat) with you, they'll do it to you", well that needs to be expanded to the government and all their classicism rhetoric....'tax the rich!...great, but who is rich? today its 250K, tomorrow its 50K? Tax those evil AIG execs!...great, but tomorrow it could be you...bonus (and overtime) money is already taxed at a higher rate than the rest of our pay anyway, why do they get to decided that we 'don't really need that money anyway'?...turbo tax Tim already is asking for the power to go into/shut down/take over ANY business he wants oh, ya, who take stimulus money...but how long before its ANY business at all? People need to be made to think about 'what happens next', because if they are willing to do it to 'them' they will eventually get around to do it to 'you'!

similar to my thought-what would happen to your town if today everyone there paid the amount of their federal tax bill to the town, and we send Washington only enough to fund the national defense?

if the Iraqi people use inked fingers to stop voting fraud why cant we? if you already have the blue finger, than you cant vote again...and what exactly is wrong with having to show a valid ID to vote?
elections matter as we are painfully finding out now, let our inked fingers become a reason for pride and the lack of a reason to be ashamed for those who shirk their duty.
