Oh, I finished the book and loved it too in the end, although I was worried for a while there that I wouldn't like it. Thank you for this readalong, I had a lot of fun.

Roots for April and Winter's Tale for October. I hope we'll do Roots in one of the readalongs. I am lagging behind with Lonesome Dove a little but will catch up this week. I like the idea.

I agree with Leah on Roscoe here, I really hoped he would surprise us all and at least make an effort to rescue the girl. It's been very interesting reading this part of the book though, a lot happening that i didn't expect would.

I get very heated when I think of how unfair and dishonest today's media is and how politicized too! A very nice review, Amy! And great that you are not lacking courage and guts to actually say out loud that you liked the book, because it's almost a politically correct thing to say otherwise.
Sarah Palin is actually not stupid which the people who call her that would know if they even bothered to listen to her (besides stupid people don't get to be where she is now, no matter their political views).
Anyway, it's not the place or time for political chats. I appreciate your objectivity because it gives me hope that maybe at least the blogging and reading world remain the trustworthy place to turn.

All and all, I found this part a lot funnier than the previous ones. it all made me feel as if I was reading a western version of comedy of manners.

Like Amy, I'm enjoying the book a lot more than I thought I would but I can also see where Melissa's frustration with it comes from. Great thoughts on the woman/man relations, Melissa.

Here are my thoughts:

I posted my own answers on my blog and sadly I do not see what you guys see in the book. at least not yet. But I did see some humor in it and, like Melissa, I didn't expect it. I hope the story gets better because I'm sticking with it.
