Kenny Donaldson does make it clear that he is opposed to loyalist attactks and he siad that IVU won't deal with the PUP, the same approach that they apply to Sinn Fein. He also said that the "contract" would potentially affect loyalist bands or parades named after dead paramilitants. These are the only issues on which I can provide an answer to your questions.

Here is the full text of the contract candidates are being asked to sign:-
++++
A CONTRACT with the innocent victims/survivors of terrorism and other ‘Troubles related violence’
1.I as a candidate for the European Parliament along with my Party believe that the use of violence in the furtherance of a ‘so-called political objective’ was never and will never be justified.

My Party will ensure that no political agreement on ‘Dealing with the Past’ will be advanced without the acceptance of this statement.

2.I along with my Party acknowledge and respect that there are a number of narrative understandings of our ‘Past.’

I and my Party will respect and ensure that those victims/survivors and others who understand the ‘Past’ to have been a terrorist campaign motivated by sectarian and ethnic hatreds will have this ‘narrative’ represented by Government bodies and others.

3.I along with my Party give an undertaking that we will not support the development of any ‘Conflict Transformation/Peace building Centre’ or any other Project associated with the ‘Troubles’ at the former Maze Prison site whilst the listed buildings connected to the former Prison and Hospital wing remain.

4.I along with my Party support the implementation of a definition of victim/survivor of terrorism which would also include an annexe for victims/survivors of any criminal-based actions inflicted by individual members of the security forces.

5.I along with my Party will actively pursue the need for the Northern Ireland Assembly to officially acknowledge European Day for Victims of Terrorism by holding an appropriate Act of Remembrance within the Assembly chamber.

6.I along with my Party will actively fight for specific legislation to be developed in relation to Northern Ireland which will outlaw the glorification and promotion of Terrorism in any form.
7.I along with my Party support the development of a central archive which would examine ‘Troubles’ related events critically and which would distinguish between events proven on an evidential basis and those relying upon intelligence, rumour and supposition reasoning.

8.I along with my Party oppose any process that includes an Amnesty being granted to those who are suspected of ‘Troubles related crimes.’

I along with my Party believe that the pursuit of Justice is an enshrined right of any Society and its’ citizens and must never be denied.

9.I along with my Party will proactively fight for victims/survivors issues to be a key part of any new Peace IV fund and will lobby for resources to be made available for the advancement of this work.

10.I and my Party will lobby for the extension or new provision of EU, UK and R.O.I Government funding in supporting the needs of victims/survivors of Terrorism and ‘other Troubles related violence’ (in the Northern Ireland context) located in all parts of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

As a candidate and political party we endorse this ‘Contract’ with innocent victims/survivors of Terrorism and other ‘Troubles related violence’ which has been developed by Innocent Victims United.

They don't need new legislation. The Barnett formula gives us money as a proportionate share of spending in England. If benefit spending in England is reduced, or doesn't go up as fast as ours, then we don't get enought to cover our outloay. If we want to keep on paying benefits under the old system we have to make up the difference by cutting something else or imposting local ta. There is also the threat that we will eventually have to build our own IT system if we operate a radically different benefits regime.

If we pay out more in beneifts than would be payable under the new system London says it will claw the difference back from us. That means the money still leaves Northern Ireland.

I think £750 million is exaggerated. But if we kept up the benefit payments at the prvious levels, whatever the sum was,. then Westminster would subtract the difference from our block grant. We can't just keep the money..

Bloody Sunday was investigated by Saville who found the killings were unlawful but did not find enought evidence to connect individual killings ot individual soldiers. People who carry out killings normally suppress and destroy evidence, that certainly applies to the iRA. This is not to defend any of the killings mentioned, it is simply making the point that the problems are not that dissimiar.

That is the same situation as with, say, the 1970s Enniskillen bombing of which JOhn Downey was suspected according to the recent judgment. We know the IRA did it but we only have supicions of precisely who in the IRA was responisible. Mr Downey got a lettr saying he wasn't wanted and, unless new an unexpected evidence emerges, that protects him agaisnt prosecution. That quite similar to the situation with the Ballymurphy or Bloody Sunday. Both are likely to enrage the relatives of the dead.

It is actually cheaper to send students from Northern Irelad to republic of Ireland Universities than to Queens or the UU. The RoI fees are €2,500 (£2,067.09 according to xe.com). Fees for local student studying in NI unis are £3,685 this year and of course if an NI student goes to a British University (s)he is charged up £9,000. My daughter is in Galway so I am aware of this from personal experience. And I see that Trinity and and Dublin city are adjusting their admission criteria to make it easier for students who have studied A Levels in Northern Ireland to get in. However they are imposing a quota on student admisison based on A levles from elsewhere in the UK.

I had yoiu taped for TUV or one of Willie Frazer's men the way you were talking!
To be fari to the DUP both Gavin Robinson and Peter Robinson have called loudly for tougher police action against the UVF in East Belfast. Lets not oversimplify in puirsuit of a mirror image.
And as for being reminded about ex-prisoners in government, I think everyone needs to get used to that until the troubles generation passes out of the political system. They get voted in and there is no use being in denial about that.
Of course if people don't like the politicians in charge or thoe who they appoint as advisers the answer is to vote for someone else as you seem to be planning to do - indignation just raises your blood pressure.
I do notice that Basil McCrea and John McCallister have spoken at a few Sinn Fein gatherings, though opposing the republican agenda. They possibly realise that you can'tt choose who leads parties you don't vote for, or exclude people you don't approve of from poltiics, you just have work with it.
