So you would advocate not doing anything and just hope everything is ok? I imagine someone that would take the time to walk around their car wouldn't be so dense as to not notice what is going on around them. I am well aware of what toddlers can do. I also know if I take the time to make sure they are not anywhere near my car, lawmower, or any other hazand AND are being properly supervised, then I have less to be concerned about. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". Good luck with your hope. I will stick to being well prepared.
Due care = lower risk. Well defined and followed processes lower the risk of human errors. It works for our military and it works in corporate America. Take 10 seconds out of your day and walk around your vehicle before starting it and driving away. My heart aches and it makes me sick to think about what this mother is going through. What makes it worse is this could have been prevented. That is what will haunt this family. Always be vigilant and never be complacent. I pray for them to some day be at peace and their child is in Heaven.
If they just post some signs that it is illegal to vandalize signs, then this would have never happened.
What has this world come to when two women can't settle their differences in a more civilized manner...Jello wrestling in thong bikinis. Of course it would have to be in full view of spectators to make sure it doesn't get out of hand.
If you bothered to read after the comma, you would see the rest of the statment in the 2nd Amendment says, "the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Not the militia, it says specifically the PEOPLE meaning you and me. If you also bothered to study the history of the revolutionary war, you might understand why it is written that way.
Yes, I have been to Solon Fire Department many times. They are a mutual aid company to the deparment I am on. You are way off base. They are a well trained and well respected department. Most departments have policies regarding how much if any alcohol can be consumed before responding to a call. Some department also have duty rosters based on ones regular job hours, so volunteers can enjoy an adult beverage without affecting their response to their communities.
They wanted to settle things by doing shots, but it seems one of them misinterpreted what he meant by "shots".
"town of 4,000 residents with a high Latino population", would it seem logical that more Latinos would get pulled over since they make up more of the town's population? I am trying not to point out the obvious here, but maybe I am the only one that sees it. Since when does crime fall under affirmative action quotas? Since Iowa does not have a native Latino population, wouldn't it also seem logical police would be checking immigration status?
Iowa DOT will send a couple guys out with a truck full of asphalt and some shovels to fill the holes in with. Three hours later it will be back to the way it was. Hey, maybe this is one of those "shovel ready" jobs Barry was talking about.
Actually, I am not. Have you considered how much power enters the grid at the power plant and how much is lost by the time it gets to your house? Let me clue you in...It is not 100% otherwise power would be limitless. The power gets transmitted over miles of high voltage high tension wires to get to your area, then it goes to a substation where is is coverted again through transformers. Since there is no resistance free wires in existance, power is lost in heat due to the resistance of the power lines during power transmission and heat in the transformers (thus the giant heat sinks on them to keep them cool). Sorry to let some facts get in the way of your story.
