I would suggest that only stop lights and speed limits are for bad drivers...all the good drivers can decide for themselves.

John,
I am glad this info was helpful! I will do a follow up post next week about meta tags.

John, thanks for the comments! I agree with you in regards to privacy concerns. It is kind of alarming to me to think that anyone on Facebook can follow me and know where I am at. Of course, Facebook doesn't automatically check you in anywhere. As I understand it, you have to click, "check in here" to actually send your location to your friends. So, there is some sense of privacy because you have to choose to share.

I'm with you on point #3. I don't want everyone I know always knowing where I am and what I'm doing. The people who should know will know...and not through Facebook.

Nathan- Thanks for the comment. I do realize the power of Jesus' message. However, we can tell people all day and night about the message, but unless God moves in their heart to understand the message, then our words do nothing. If we do our part in inviting, sharing as the spirit leads, praying for the lost to understand, and loving everyone as Christ loves us, then that is the Message and Lord willing they will begin to understand the Love God has for them.

Thanks for the thoughts. I agree with you that being "unplugged" has to be intentional and planned. And I will admit that when I do unplug, I feel a little lost..."What do I do now??" I definitely feel like technology can run me, if I'm not careful....and anything that takes our focus off of Christ can easily become an idol.- as you said. Thanks for the reminder.

Great question... I don't think hiding an item from your news feed would remove you from being invited to events. If they sent out a formal invitation, you would still receive it., but if they sent out an invite to their event and just put it in a status update, then you would not receive it because it's hidden from your feed. However, you always have the option to click on the page and see all the info you've "missed." But to answer your question...you should still be invited to their events, if they send a formal invite. The news feed would only hide things like status updates, activities and events that they post that they didn't send out an official invite to. Hope that answers your question!

Elly- You will need to find out who set it up in order to access the page to change information on it. If you can't find out who's account it was set up under, then I would suggest just creating a new group under your own FB account or create a FB account for the church and create the group or page under that account. A general account for the church would be easier so multiple people could have the login information and it wouldn't be directly connected to your personal account.

Link to create a FB page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

If you want to create a group, you can do so after setting up a Facebook account for the church. There will be a link to "groups" on the left side of the Facebook account. Click on this and then "create group." It's pretty self explanatory from there.
Hope that answers your question!

A poke is a feature of Facebook that allows you to click a button that says "poke" and you virtually "poke" another Facebook user....for whatever purpose you want to poke someone....to get their attention...to be annoying...just because...etc.

I agree..I don't play Farmville..but have been invited multiple times to play...all from, shall I dare say say, "older" facebook users. I wonder if I can find out what the demographics are. I'll check into it.
