Toast Toast Toast! I very very rarely am online in open thread times due to living on the wrong side of the world, so am so thrilled to get to drop by and just express my appreciation for how wonderful y'all are. I lurk pretty dedicatedly and all of you commentators make my day pretty regularly. Thanks!
These are also many of my favorites! In the First Aid Kit genre, do you know Daughter? I've been listening to them lately and really like them.
I was about to recommend this but you got there first! I love it and can't stop listening. Her previous album (Kiss, I think it's called?) is also super underrated.
I live in Asia and love the crazy face masks you can buy here - they come as special face serum slathered on a cotton mask with eye, nose, and mouth holes. Once you get over the Silence of the Lamb feeling, they're super easy and fun to use, and make my skin look noticeably better. I don't have a particular favorite brand or type (I just avoid the skin whitening ones) but if you see one around, they're great!
THIS IS ME. I have generally terrible feetskin and take poor care of it, and baby foot is a miracle for me. I'm on my second round (a couple months later) and it is great. Lotion is good when the peeling is done, but I wouldn't lotion while peeling - it can make it less effective. Nightly foot baths in water as hot as you can stand is good too to help the peeling along.
In a recent interview I heard with Mistress Matisse, a pro dom, she made a really good point that there are ALREADY laws against human trafficking and sexual assault, the two things most people say they're trying to combat when legislating against sex work. She argued that there doesn't need to be a separate "sex work" category on top - at least not how there is now - because it ends up hurting, not helping, actual sex workers, like the RentBoy arrests did.
Totally understand where people are coming from with the backlash, but I've also seen just how much the rainbow profile pictures mean to my friends who come from more conservative backgrounds or cultures. I have a couple friends who aren't out yet because of some intense homophobia in their family, and adding the rainbows/having friends from the same background change their photos both showed them some unexpected support and sparked some serious discussion in their families. In certain circles, anyways, it's pretty meaningful.
hooo boy do I wish that were the case, but I've seen some pretty messed up, crazy-thread worthy stuff go down in queer relationships too. Jerks: they come in all sexual orientations!
