I actually think that this is what Cameron meant when she told John that she IS different from the other Terminators that he has met. Cameron's chip isn't in read-only mode, and can write as well.
She is learning, and she is changing.

Most human beings couldn't pull off impersonating someone because they don't look or sound anything like the person. Except for identical twins, of course. But then, if you didn't know the person even had a twin, it would probably take a while to get caught. Maybe not, though, if there were enough personal details that they couldn't remember.
But, most people wouldn't think that their spouse had been replaced by a cyborg (or anything else) if they started acting weird. Especially if there was another viable excuse, like trauma from an accident. They, like Barbara, would be able to notice that something was very different, but they probably wouldn't be able to figure it out all that quickly.

I also really appreciate that he action on the screen directly contradicts what Sarah is saying. It's awesome that her monologues are just from her perspective, built off her beliefs alone, and aren't treated as 100% true.

She is obviously really skilled at the THEORY of spy-work - she can note suspicious behavior, and knows the right questions to ask. However, she isn't very skilled at subtly getting the information she needs. She is just way too obvious about it. If Aly wasn't already on Chenaol's side, and didn't have Kyprioth to back her up on that, Aly would be in a lot more trouble trying to get out of this. It really seems like a rookie mistake. Maybe George wasn't entirely wrong about not wanting her in the field.
Then again, maybe Aly would have been more subtle if she was spying on people she didn't have an out with.
