Actually this article is blatantly lying to you all. The NAS study found that perchlorate affects the uptake of iodine by the thyroid gland. http://lab.nap.edu/nap-cgi/discover.cgi?term=perc... But none of you were probably curious or intelligent enough to look that up yourselves.

Help me understand why the EPA would want to regulate something if it weren't a risk to human health. Do they want to get sued? Oh right they are trying to collapse the capitalist system right?

We could make so much more money if only industry could use our air and water as a toxic waste bin!

What a profoundly misleading video.

We start out fighting a BS straw man argument. No one is suggesting that we reduce people's productivity to increase employment. We aren't suggesting that we need to replace backhoes with shovels, we're suggesting that we get new backhoes to work.

Government spending correlates with low employment.... NO SH#T! That's because government spending increased in an effort to boost employment! That's like saying ambulances cause car accidents. Jesus!

Oh a small business group did a study that found regulations are too high? NO SH#T! Regulations cost money, and business wants to make more money.

Did they do a cost benefit analysis and try to calculate the monetary saving in healthcare for example... and the non-monetary benefits of regulations? NO!

The last suggestion to do a cost benefit analysis of all regulations is indeed illegal as many regulatory laws specifically prohibit taking economics into account. For example a number of environmental regulations require that only human health is considered. Thank God.

And yet you supported Iraq I guess. A conflict in which we had the same goal... yet it took years, thousands of lives, and cost us respect in the world because we did it alone.

In contrast, we did this entirely from the air, in a few months, and with the support of the world.
