Huge difference between ferries and the roads. You have to be a moron to equate the two. Would you think that taking a helicopter to work is the same as driving on the freeway? Probably not.

Far more people and companies use the highways than use the ferries. If the ferries were turned over to a private company that charged the actual cost of a ferry run, the people in Kitsap County and on Vashon Island might finally understand what the rest of the state has known for decades.

I see the teabaggers are out in force, sniping at their favorite target Jim McDermott. Never mind that he's the duly elected representative in his district, and never mind that his vote is in line with the majority of his constituents.

Before the November elections, can ANYONE from the Tea Party let us know which parts of the Constitution they are going to protect, and which they are going to wipe their bums with? Jim McDermott is twenty times the American as ANYONE in the Tea Party.

Maybe the city should ask her to indemnify it in the event someone gets killed at the intersection. Then her homeowner's insurance will be telling her to cut the bushes down or else.

In Seattle, the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many, whether you are an entitled Parks commissioner or a homeowner with an overgrown safety hazard.

You don't have the right to have your laziness subsidized. Dignity is not refusing to accept a minimum wage job, dignity is recognizing the shame of being carried on the dole.

"I can't accept minimum wage." Hate to break it to you, but maybe if no one else is hiring you that's what you're worth.

If you don't want to accept minimum wage, God bless you. But that's no reason the rest of the country has to carry you. Go get two jobs if you must. THAT'S the solution.
