Yes! I remember that earthquake also! My son was home for lunch from elementary school and we thought a huge truck was going down our street. The florr vibrated and the dishes rattled on the shelves. It didn't last long, but it sure was felt in Stratford.
I look at the picture of that precious baby's face and really can not wrap my mind around the fact that someone could deliberately hurt her, let alone kill her. She had a right to live her life out in full. My only consolation is that she is in the arms of the angels and the Lord now, who will love her as she deserves.
Statistics can be manipulated to "prove" anything one wants to prove. I don't give them much merit.
And what are YOU two above posters doing for your community or world????
These middle schoolers are learning about sacrificing. They are learning there is a world bigger than their own. I applaud them.
Yes, I do see now why the school is also being sued. It seems the article was updated since I first read it. I would agree 100% with the school officials also being sued if they knew the pictures were being shown around. The whole thing is such a mess.
If this happened in a private home, why in the world is she also suing Madison school officials???
No doubt the man was wrong, wrong, wrong for drinking while wearing his badge and uniform. I am surprised, though, that he was not first offered some kind of rehab program. These programs are usually available to all employees in the state.
Also, I can not quite figure out from the article if his offenses were commited at five restaurants on one particular day or at 5 restaurants on 5 different days. Can anyone shed any light on this?
My heart breaks for the families that will be affected by this cut. Their need for justice is surely no less today than the day they lost a family member. There is no legal limit of time in arresting and prosecuting for a murder, and yet the governor seems to be establishing a time limit for feeling the crime is important. Sad. I wonder if this budget cut would be made if HIS family member had been murdered and the culprit not yet found?
It must be terrible to lose irreplacable things like pictures and family treasures to a fire. I know that all are fortunate to have gotten out safely and that that is the most important. However, I would be devastated about the loss of some of my treasured possessions doe sure. lots of sympathy to these folks.
I know I am totally not being politically correct, but I really don't see the horror and outrage here. I would assume many groups are being monitored since 911 and I think it is a practical, needed step. If I am not doing anything wrong, then why should I care if I am being monitored. The attacks that have been thwarted because of monitoring is something we should be glad of I would think. This is not to say all Muslim groups are terrorists at all... it ios saying we have been burned badly and are being a lot more viligant because of it.
