It is absolutely essential that we do not let up on our congressmen! Hopefully, nothing is accomplished before the August recess, but that will only delay the issue. Continue writing, calling, faxing. They absolutely MUST BE MADE TO UNDERSTAND that their pinkslips are on the way if they vote in favor of this atrocity!
During the coverage of SC Governor's affair, there was someone on Fox patting himself on the back for his "incredible" investigative reporting involving recent tax-payer funded trips Sanford took to Argentina. Now, those records are public and don't involve much investigation. How about some of these so called investigative reporters turn their sights on ANYTHING involving Obama's veiled past? How about some of these so called investigative reporters turn their signs on ACORN? How about they turn their sights on everything that is so undermining the integrity of the Constitution of the United States?
Really great easy to use website to review your congressman's voting history. First step is to input your zip code, then select the representative or senator. The resulting page is just about everything you need to know about that individual. There is a menu on the right side of the screen that includes Voting Record and Issue Positions. I would definitely bookmark the page to review when the individual is campaigning for re-election.

The Obama administration is threatening to rescind billions of dollars in federal stimulus money if Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and state lawmakers do not restore wage cuts to unionized home healthcare workers approved in February as part of the budget. Schwarzenegger's office was advised this week by federal health officials that the wage reduction, which will save California $74 million, violates provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Failure to revoke the scheduled wage cut before it takes effect July 1 could cost California $6.8 billion in stimulus money, according to state officials. The news comes as state lawmakers are already facing a severe cash crisis, with the state at risk of running out of money in July. The wages at issue involve workers who care for some 440,000 low-income disabled and elderly Californians. The workers, who collectively contribute millions of dollars in dues each month to the influential Service Employees International Union and the United Domestic Workers, will see the state's contribution to their wages cut from a maximum of $12.10 per hour to a maximum of $10.10. The SEIU said in a statement that it had asked the Obama administration for the ruling.
The SEIU is flexing its political muscle yet again:

Since you've taken the time to repost your message (and deleted your original), I will repost my response:
Unfortunately the Arkansas House Bill HCR1011 FAILED on April 3rd. The majority in the AR House thought it was too contentious. VERY DISAPPOINTING!
Sounds great, but not necessarily that cut and dried. Our choices for Arkansas District 2 Representative this past November were the incumbent Democrat (Vic Snyder) or a Greenie. Basically the frying pan or a raging fire.

That is the unfortunate weakness of the design of this site: issues are mushed all together and it is difficult to see if something has been brought up. Things that are truly available for 'action' get lost in the shuffle. But we have what we have and will continue to outline steps/actions that can be taken ... large or small.
Yes, in addition to signing the petition, I also wrote to my Representative and Senator. Truth be told, though, I wonder if our direct contacts are "recognized in DC." Some aide might do a tally, yea or nay, on an issue, but who is to say that our congressmen really see even the pro/con vote? It's discouraging to know that they don't actually SEE the verbatim messages or emails that we take the time to compose and send. Oh, well, guess at least a thumbs up/down is better than nothing. At least they know that they are being watched.
