But now I am glad to see that Malay Mail has corrected its article and posted the Obama video, to show that he said "diversity," not democracy. I am concerned, however, by Obama's reference to "tolerance." When I see such things as Zahid's remarks about Chinese Malaysians and JAKIM's and others' comments on Christians, it seems that Malaysia is becoming less tolerant.

(2) As so many others have pointed out, the Arabic word "Allah" was used by both Jews and Christians in the Arabic-speaking world long before the birth of the Prophet and the beginning of the Muslim faith. Therefore, to assert that Muslims have the exclusive right to use the word ignores both language and history.
