Is it really only a matter of the cost of capital, as SolarCity claims? Tax credits are still attractive to private investors in many instances and industries. Converting to cash (grants) was necessary because so many recipients were not operating as a taxable entity (profitable), I assume. So behind the 'sound good' language, the truth is that investors are wary of SolarCity and their peers because they cannot balance their books and grow without free money. For me the argument isn't whether such subsidies should exist, although that is a valid argument, but for how long and under what indicators should they continue? To the taxpayer it looks as if the free money is mandatory and forever needed for the business to be practical. Surely is capital costs are 'unduly high', markets agree.
Hey, in a era where celebrity is a valid, singular goal for achievement, and when liberal politics are sliding almost completely to the progressive side - meaning things are justified on "feelings", shouldn't any procedures that make people feel better about themselves be free and available to all? Seems like it follows the logic of much of the new approach to healthcare....
ThinkProgress? Equally laughable as a "fact-based" source....
You entire argument in opposition to his findings is nothing more than a strike at his character? Really? Pitiful.
Regardless of his methods, even you point out that all accusations have led to a sole plea to a misdemeanor. If anyone is not walking on the edge of misdemeanors in their daily lives, they aren't living. Have you ever lied within a written or verbal contract, for example?
Sometimes the motive to criticize (smear) overrides all others like reporting or educating. More often than not those instances are very obvious, too.
It will be interesting to see how deep into their pockets the paper will go in their defense. Is the first priority to maintain their "dignity" and "merit" at being a hit squad, or is it profitability?
It may be that I haven't been watching with as much interest and scrutiny over a long period of time, but it sure seems like the larger media outlets are doubling down on their one-sided bias. It's probably not 100% intentional, as some like Bernie Goldberg have opined, but it seems pretty evident to all but the most dedicated progressive/liberal minded persons. And so we have the Catch 22. The media's influence on the public at large is dying and their effort to recover it only makes it worse. Much worse.
I think you are confused and replying to the wrong comments.........or, you just randomly assemble words.
Clearly you either do not listen, or do not read. The deep end comment tied to the cries of racism. Try again, keemosabe.
Given the way politics has shifted so rapidly in this country, and IF the GOP takes even more seats in the Senate AND the White House, it will be proof of how ineffective and powerless the MSM has become. Regardless of what some like keemosabe and others who comment hope.
