This wasn't the first drunken "run in" Chris Kluttz had with law enforcment. He had been arrested and committed on several occasions. But lets not remember him in the fashion please. Lets honor him by seeing him from what he was before his life spun out of control. He was formerly a proud member of The United States Armed Forces and a former Spencer Police Officer. He stepped forward and served his country and community just as many others do today. Let remember Chris in that manner.

As for Gene Houpe we should thank him for his service and pray that his soul heals. Its not easy to take a human life regardless if the law says you're right. We should life him and his family up in prayer.

I think I would like to have an open debate with the leaders of T.H.U.G. and listen to their answers. Althought I think the answers would be stupid, it would still be a learning experience.

East Spencer is a "beautiful little town" ? What the hell is Burris smoking ? Tammy is a harmless nut who would fall apart after 3 meetings. Johnson is just a bitter old hag who misses the company of John Jr. Titus is so crazy he can't even wear 2 socks of the same color. And Rustin, good old John L. Rustin. Uncle Tom in the flesh !!

I agree 100% with Chief Ron Hines. Mallett would be bad, but Cowan would be even worse. There is no good choice.

Elite5 you're correct in a sense. We do need more strict guidelines and MUCH longer prison terms. That in turn would take some of the burdon off The County and shift it to The State.

Do you have any idea how many 3 time convicted felons are walking around free in Rowan County ? 1000's of them !!! Granted some of these 3 time losers aren't what are considered "violent" felons. They just sell dope, steal cars, or break into stores/homes, ect. But regardless they fall under the "3 strikes law". ALL OF THEM should be indicted as habitaul felons and shipped off to DOC. What use are they to the good people of Rowan County ? If you have committed or been covicted of 3 felony crimes, I feel 100% sure that your life path has already been chosen.

Somebody prove me wrong.
