Majority of us wanted property tax relief (rightfully so, politicians for years promised the world without new taxes, and thus you had the runaway problem), now you see the result. You don’t like how it’s working out, want to pay more, pass a referendum or two like I just helped to do. Raise your taxes locally if you feel strongly enough about not cutting jobs in education. Oh, but I seem to remember, most of the vocal opposition aren’t really paying taxes anyway.

If you’re going to come on here and gripe about Daniels because you are too immature to educate yourselves, go for it. But there’s a reason he has a higher approval rating than virtually every Governor in the nation.

4.The ISTA just released a document, sorry it’s at home, but I think it mentioned that 44 states nationally are making major school funding & job cuts. We’re not immune to this, and in fact are in much better shape than most. I am from a teacher family, we support the ISTA through our income, and despise the lack of respect and poor decision making Bennett has shown. Remember though, he’s elected by all of us, not by the Governor. It’s not an appointed position. We only have ourselves to blame. This is NOT Mitch’s doing, and I stand by it.

3.Wasn’t it Federal legislation that handicapped and destroyed the RV industry? Wasn’t there just a major jobs announcement in the same economically depressed region? What do you want him to do, magically recreate the glory years overnight? Just asking.

2.Central Indiana generates the most tax revenue of anywhere else in the state, but is technically a ‘donor’ region. Here’s a link: http://www.theindychannel.com/news/22219323/detai... Even your legislators are steering you wrong, which is deplorable. It’s simple math, yeah Indy gets the biggest $ chunk, but they put in the most…and get some of the least in return (per capita).

Some of these comments are comical. A few things to ponder:

1. The Toll Road was a tax burden, non-profit generating, STATE liability. Maybe the rest of the state should lobby for years of repayments for the $$$ lost on the Toll Road. After all, it wasn't just funded out of Northern Indiana. Let's be fair.
