Great post that is extremely timely!

That sounds plausible.

Although I do not know too much about Twitter's history, this much I do know:

Evan, one of the co-founders of Twitter, was also one of the masterminds behind Blogger, which was eventually sold to Google. I believe Evan stayed on at Google for awhile and then left to do another startup.

The way he explains it, Twitter was almost an accident. In fact, it was a side-project in his new company -- something they developed for the fun of it. Somehow, it went viral and here we are today.

I do wonder if someone like Google will make the move for it. Facebook tried to buy it for $500 million and were turned down. There is some bad blood there.

The reason why I wonder if another company will make a move for it is because of what's going on at Facebook. Mark Z. is now saying that it will take three more years to develop a feasible business plan. In other words, they have no idea how to make it into the cash cow it needs to be to cover their huge operating costs. If they knew how, they would already be doing it. Facebook is too large of an organization though -- something like 600 employees, I've heard.

Twitter, on the other hand, is ran on a skeleton crew of 29 people. THAT is how a tech company needs to operate. If they can keep the overhead low enough, they may remain attractive to a larger company, even if they fail at monetization and it has to be ran as a loss leader. A lot of people now get their news from Twitter (relying on their friends to point them to the most interesting links) ... which sounds right up Google's alley. Also, I know for a fact that the data sitting on Twitters servers is extremely valuable to the right company.

I guess the question is: who? Google, of course, is an obvious possibility because of the data. Who else though?

I have often wondered the same thing. The Federal Reserve is owned by the member banks. If the member banks are teetering on failure then how in the world does the Fed have any money?

What I love about the video is that it's either 100% accurate, or 100% inaccurate. I guess it's all in how you view Twitter? That and perhaps who you follow...

As a self-confessed Twitter addict who thought he had Annapolis on lock down, I have learned of a few more people to follow!

Well, thank you, thank you. I continued the hunt based on your original feedback. The problem is usually that I'll find a look I like, but then it doesn't function the way I want it to. Or the other way around. It's hard to find one that does it. I can do some mods but I break it every time I try to do too much. :(

Thanks! Well I done changed it again! LOL, so I don't know which you're commenting on. John convinced me to change it even though he doesn't know it yet. I wish I knew how to customize it more to add something unique except I always tend to break things when I dig too much into the theme. :( I will see what I can do though... I appreciate the feedback! :)

That's what I was going for. :(

Please excuse me while I go cry and pound my head against the wall. :)
