Well, tanyamaslach, that was pretty motivational!! Thanks so much! I'm my own worst critic so I'm totally framing this quote, "What screws us up in life is the picture in our head of how it is supposed to be" I can't wait to learn more about GOTRibal. Sounds like such a great org! Thanks for your hard work!

Thanks so much, Erin! I think about what you've been through often when I start beating myself up about how I should be doing. You've come such a long way and you're totally my inspiration. Thank you!

Cailin - I actually saw a girl running when we were leaving in the car who I think was still in the race but everyone else had packed up including the race officials! I think they forgot about her. It was so much fun I'm doing it again in August. You should try it too!

Yes, the swim part was what I was scared of the most! How did he get his tooth knocked out running? I thought you were going to say swimming.

A good place to start is TravBuddy.com. You can enter your trip details and then you can see other travelers who may be in the same place at the same time.

Tripping.com and Couchsurfing.com, both websites for finding free places to sleep, may be good too since you can find a local who is willing to host you and can show you around a bit. Tripping also has profiles of people who are not able to host travelers but may be people to reach out to to get some destination advice and maybe even meet up for dinner or drinks!

Very cool! If you'd like to submit a photo of the week from another place in Costa Rica for Photo of the Week consideration, please send it to kristina@diwyy.com.

Alexandria - Awesome! Danielle actually has a second post on teaching abroad at the end of August with more tips for securing a teaching job abroad. Good luck in your search and, once you've made the move, we'd love to have you write a blog post about your experience!
