Seemed to me they were trying to capitalize on the Olympics incident where the American athlete said another team played like cowards, playing it safe - when the American was expecting a more exciting match. Then Miz started improvising a bit too much. I also felt like DB walked away so he wouldn't punch Miz in the face, embarrassing him in front of Maryse.
It's good Miz can summon up that kind of fire but I think he's so used to playing even his promos safe, he doesn't know how to improvise without being hurtful about it. Daniel's obviously gone through a lot in his forced retirement, saying he had kind of a breakdown about it. It's got to be a sore spot.
So yeah, while I agree it was a work or worked shoot kind of thing, I think there were some legit buttons pushed.
Not taking a side here because I couldn't care less one way or another but I'm sure from Vince's point of view, he's thinking, we're working hard to get people to buy the network. There's people who haven't bought the network yet who might be tempted to buy it after hearing about the show. Why would anyone pay to see everything we're creating tonight if they've already seen it on line?
You'll still enjoy the hell out of it, I betcha.
I haven't liked Charlotte BUT that match with Sasha on Monday was an incredible match. I think the really good matches don't get enough credit because people tend to get overly involved in the personalities and their acting abilities. But watch that match again. It was pretty special.
I'm just happy they didn't break up the Dudleys again.
Who in their right mind would do this knowing there'd be millions of dollars at risk?
re: A. Aries - how can they replace the greatest man who ever lived? (sarcasm, btw)
Disney won't even let daycare centers use Mickey Mouse on their wall murals. So hey, WWE is just doing what Disney does. Sad that it's normal practice. But that's where we are.
about the roster being too thin for another split - seems to me they're making room to add more up and coming superstars to the mix. i didn't care for the 1st split but i'm looking forward to seeing how they've learned lessons from it. i like the idea of Shane running one show and Steph running another (even if it's just a storyline) and being encouraged to out-ruthless-aggression each other. plus i get tired of seeing the same characters on both smackdown and raw. i like that there'll be 2 rosters for the 2 shows. ok, vote me down. humanoids.
nobody gets the ratings they got in the 90's. we only had 57 channels back then. Now? it's unlimited. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, torrents, everything is competing for our attention.
